Default Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Is anybody running these on their stock GS with factory 18's? They look good to me to replace the factory Yoko Advans, however the tire guy at my local Costco tells me it is the totally wrong tire for our 2007 GS350 and is trying to get me to run the MXM4 luxury touring Michelin instead. Any opinions?

Aslong as it is same as oem in size its good to go. Mxm4 is an all season tire while super sport is a summer tire.

you can get the mich and have fun in them. you will get better mileage out of them as they are summer/sport tires and also more traction. and possibly more MPG. if you dont need the snow traction or run snow wheel setup then the michs are perfectly fine. go for it!

Same size as OEM tires. 245/40 18. My wife has always disliked the loose steering feel and the way the car follows ruts and dips at lower speeds, so I figure these might help a little. I know the electric power steering over asists and is mostly behind that lack of steering feel, however I would think a better perfoming tire would feel more connected, I would think the soft luxury type tires are going to be even less connected and she'll be less than satisfied with the tire change. To make things worse, her last car was a 2001 BMW 530i with sport suspension.

I have them on my 450h and I would highly recommend them. They are quiet and they stick to the road like glue. I can't make any decisive claims on tread life as I've only had them on for about 10k miles but they still look good! Steering feel is definitely more direct and the car really feels planted.

these tires are for more extreme sports car, and they wouldn't really get the right use from your gs and that makes it a kinda waste of money. The Pilots Sport A/S should be all you need, not the Super Sport. I have the Pilots Sport A/S 235/50 on my car. It's nice, traction is great in dry and wet, handles sharp. The HX is good too but towards the end of the tires life..grip gets worse while there seems to be atleast 10k life on tread.

Lots of comments on the Pilot A/S being noisy. All these high mileage luxury all season tires seem to get cupped, noisy, and hard riding after 20K anyway. What's really the point in putting up with being miserable because they still have tread left? I live in central California where summer tires work fine all year round.

Tires change the attitude of the car. I have to disagree with you crom. A set of PSS's would be perfect for the person looking to get more grip, better steering response, and more fun from their GS.

Just had them installed today. The wife just drove from Costco to home so far, which is only a couple miles. Time will tell. They make the car look a bit meaner for sure with the widely spaced tread pattern!

Nice! Give them about 100 to 150 miles to "break in". They can be a bit greasy for that first bit.

If you don't mind me asking, what was their price? I frequent Costco and am looking at getting a set sometime soon.

$267.99 plus installation, recycling/state tire fees, and sales tax. Theye were running $70 off Michelin promo through today only, however they do run those a few times a year. Bummer is that they scratched all 4 wheels even though I talked with the manager buy phone last week and told him I was concerned and wanted to make sure they could install them without damage. (Found the damage after we washed off all the tire installation paste that was all over the tires and wheels this morning) He assured me they could-Just tell whoever writes up the job about our concern. My wife did just that-Walked around the car with the guy and shows him that the wheels have no damage and the car is her baby and is really great shape. He assures her they will take real good care of her car-NOT! Now I have to call the manager in the morning. He was out today-Talked to the guy that installed them and he tells me he remembered the car-It was the new Lexus right? (It's 5 years old) His name was on the receipt as the installer so I let him know he was careless and damaged the wheels. Told him the guy that wrote up my wife said they would be extra careful and not damage anything. He said they did tell him that and he way very careful and doesn't know how that could have happened. If that was extra careful, I would hate to se the result of his normal work. End of rant for now.
