2010 gs350 or 2012 Camry xle
Hi all, new here. I have always loved Lexus, but have never owned one, I am hoping to very shortly buy one for my wive (2 kids)
I am debating about buying either a CPO 2010 gs350 or a brand new Camry XLE. A 2010 gs350 with 35k is about the same price as a new 2012 Camry,$35k
Now I know both are great reliable cars, I need peoples inputs and opinions on here on which to purchase and why.
Are there any known issues on the gs350,
Are they high maintenance as a Benz, BMW, Audi
Thank you

lexus is just like any other car. the 350 series has the same engine as the avalon, except there's no direct injection (so no ticking noise in the engine bay).
As for the camry XLE vs GS350? It's personal preference, the GS is a bit more of a sporty ride and the camry's a bit more of a grocery getter, much more comfortable IMO.

Quality with the GS is also on a whole new different level. Sound/noise, creature comfort, ride quality, driving feel, everything is up a level. They are not in the same class at all. Also GS is RWD which handles and drives better. For the same price, it's not a question in my opinion, Lexus are very reliable and 35k is really nothing to worry about. With the Lexus, you also have that "identity" for driving a luxury car (if that matters to you). But with a Lexus, you will be paying for a premium, higher cost for maintance, premium fuel just to name a few. If you stay away from dealers and go to independent shops, you will save a ton. Just remember, you are on a Lexus forum and many people will be biased towards Lexus. Both are great cars though, I would suggest for you to just go take a test drive in both and see which one you like better.

I just went through a similar dilemma... except it was a 2008 GS350 AWD CPO vs. 2011 Avalon Limited. After the test drive, the Lexus won hands down. As was stated before: comfort, quality, sport, and style are all combined in the Lexus. Plus the Lexus CPO warranty is amazing! Best of luck!

Just a note, I own a 2007 GS450h and my brother owns a 2006 Toyota Avalon, there's no comparison between the two. The second you touch the door handle and sit in, everything becomes apperant. And press that start button, damn it's a dream compare to the Avalon.
