Helpppp meee! I messed up
i accidentally cut 4 wires from my wiring harness next to the left driver side fender where the fuse box is. All electrical components in the car works: windows, trunk, lights, nav, radio, etc, etc. Only one problem is: the car won't start and the brakes are extremely stiff! Check ABS and check VSC lights are now flashing. After cutting those wires, i stripped the wires and soldered them back together and triple checked my work if they were soldered on corrected with the matching wires. Still, car won't start. Also, I tried to connect my OBD2 scanner in to try to reset codes, but it would not connect to my car! That is why, i am assuming it is the ECU that shorted or something. I checked all fuses throughout the car and nothing is burnt out. What should I do? DEALERSHIP OR BODY SHOP? I NEED INPUT PLEASE!

Dealership. You could attempt to reset ABS/VSC System, but the no start is a mystery.
DTC CHECK/CLEAR (WHEN USING SST CHECK WIRE
(a) DTC check
1) Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
SST: 09843-18040
(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(3) Read DTC from the ABS warning light on the combination meter and multi information display
(4) As an example, the illustration below shows the blinking patterns of the normal system code and trouble codes 31 and 43, and display of the normal system code and trouble code 31 on the multi information display.
(5) Codes are explained in the code table .
(6) After completing the check, disconnect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3, and turn the display off.
If 2 or more DTCs are detected at the same time, the DTCs will be displayed in ascending order.
(b) DTC clear
(1) Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3
(2) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(3) Clear the DTCs stored in the ECU by depressing the brake pedal 8 times or more within 5 seconds.
(4) Check that the warning light and multi information display indicate the normal system code.
(5) Remove the SST from the terminals of the DLC3.
SST can just be a jumper wire.

always dealership for those type of problems. No need to ask whether dealership or body shop
P.S. have you tried disconnecting the battery and letting it sit for about 15-30 minutes? Just throwing it out there, it might help

i did this and no codes appeared. but, new warning signs came on. instead of check vsc/abs, these warnings came on: Brake Malfunction, Check Power Steering System, Check ABS. those 3 errors came on. I tried to clear the DTCs with the method you've told me, and it won't clear those warning signs. When i take out the wires from the TC and CG, my old warning signs (check vsc/abs) came on again. any more advice for me?

Yeah, at this point I wouldnt mess with it. Have it towed down to a dealership. I can imagine they can replace hopefully just the harness, but if its tied to a larger unit prepare for some heart ache
