Default change pads with new rotors?

previous owner put on new pads but didn't turn rotors. Had some high speed brake vibrations so I bought new rotors. Can I just keep the pads there and reuse, and just throw on the new rotors?

correct new rotors = new pads

new pads can go w/ old rotors provided rotors are above min spec (not glazed, ridged, warped, etc.)

fwiw, I put Akebono CeramicACT pads on our '07 GS (about 5k ago) and have been extremely pleased w/ results (after multiple attempts reducing dust and squeal w/ OEM).

good luck

thanks I will try the akebono brake pads, seems like they have really good reviews. When changing out the pads do I need the extra stuff like the front fitting kit and the front shim kit?
