Default Buying 2007 GS 350

Hey Guys,

Im looking to purchase a 2007 AWD GS 350 with 50k miles. for 25,000. how does that price sound? Also I was on EDMUNDS and it said that that model and year had alot of engine problems. Can someoen please let me know what they experienced? Also shows the car has had some recalls. I am looking to buy a nice luxury realible car and I thought the GS awd 350 would be the best bet. But the more I look and research I see maybe its not the case. PLEASE HELP!!!

Options will def. make a difference (nav, ml, etc...) in price but I think you could do a little better. You should be able to get an '08 with same miles for the same price.

Hey guys thanks alot for posting back.

http://www.edmunds.com/lexus/gs-350/...liability.html this is the article I am refering too

TMV is around 25,152
2007 Gs AWD.. back up camera,, navigation... 50k miles.. sensors etc... asking price 25k and pretty firm.. is that a good deal? I read that article and I'm worried. I dont want to buy this car and worry abotu engine problems. with only 20k and a one year on the power train.

There was a valve recall that could be mistaken as intake gears I suppose. Not sure anybody had any failures and the valve recall seem to go okay for everybody. That being said you might try to find out if the vehicle you are looking at had the recall work performed.

if it has mark levinson, maybe (on the high side). but if it doesn't have it, then it's definitely on the high side

The intake gears might be the cam gear problem?

No problems on my '07 so far... 43K miles. Bought this past May with 38K.

That price is about what theyre going for, so its not a great price.

Hey guys thanks alot.. I got them down to 26,000 OTD PRICE.... no mark levinson.. Just regular sound system. Is that still to high? Ya edmunds had that as a major engine issue. Its coming off a lease with all the maintence and recalls done.. All the maintence was done on time and I have all of the records. Is it also worth it to purchase an extended warranty??? Also has anyone you guys know ever had problems with the lexus 350 motors.. Lastly to you 07 gs350 owners is the MPG reallly that bad?

Gas mileage is great with mine... 28-30mpg when crusing at 70..... 21-23 around town.

My GS400 was getting 18city/24hwy, same horsepower.

Make sure you play with the REC to fresh air button with and w/o A/C. Mine had the gnarly jackhammer rattle inside the glove compartment and didnt' know what it was. The salesman told me it's a simple fix and that the in-cabin filter was installed incorrectly. He then proceeded to play with it, and the noise went away. I thought the problem was fixed, but the noise came back 2 wks later. since I bought it used, and opted not to purchase the extended warranty, I'm now screwed. The noise is inconsistent as I can go a full week without a problem.
Someone recently posted a fix using epoxy for the broken clip that is the cause of the noise.

Also, my side mirror gears broke down 2 wks after I bought the car so when I took it in, the dealership did cover the cost of that. However, my glove wasn't making the rattle at the time, so they couldn't justify fixing it as well. These were the only problem I've had. It's an 07, fully loaded, rwd, 31k miles. Good luck!
