ANOTHER ONE!! IM Sure this has BEEN discussed!! GS350 AWD Wheels
I just bought a GS350 AWD and I would like to put some wheels on it. I'm thinking about 20's but I want a staggered set, and I've been told since its AWD it will mess up my drive, traction control and all that other stuff. Ive looked on here and seen couple of AWD's with staggered sets. CAN ANYONE HELP!!! Some advice on offsets and tires would be awesome.

How does 245,30,20 in the front and 285,30,20 is the same? 245 is the width of the tire, the higher the number the longer in width it is. 25 stand for height (aka thickness of the tire). So the difference between the specs you mentioned is +40,+5,20. Not sure how the thickness of the tire has anything to do with the width of it.

the third number is the diameter of the wheel it fits on, in inches
here's the math:
245/30/20, profile of tire = 245 x 0.3 = 73.5mm / 25.4 = 2.89" x 2 (2 of them) = 5.79" + 20 (diameter of wheel) = 25.79"
285/25/20, profile of tire = 285 x 0.25 = 71.25mm / 25.4 = 2.81" x 2 (2 of them) = 5.61" + 20 (diameter of wheel) = 25.61"
from the math, the difference in overall diameter of the wheel setup front and rear differ by < 0.2". that's very close with each other
and like i said, the overall diameter is the key, not the width of the tires. hope this helps

im thinking of running 9. in the front and 10's in the back but most of the ones on here have have 8.5/10 or 9.5/10.5 but these usually require shaving the fenders and so forth. So whats the best options to avoid rubbing, and liner issues?

This depends on if you lower your car and how much. Don't forget about rim offsets. I have an AWD lowered almost 2" and run 20x8.5" +40 in the front and 20x10 +40 in the rear and don't have any rubbing issues and i didn't have to touch my fenders at all. Tire selection is very important also as some have a wider "shoulder than others.
