Default I see the light! (ballast replacement)

So after driving with 1 burnt ballast for the last 3 months, I can now finally see the light! Big thanks goes to Mike (passnu2) for his expertise. There's no way this would had gotten done w/o his help.

For your sake, hope you never have to replace the ballasts, because it is a royal pain in the ***.

Take all 10mm bolts out from the top and bottum of the bumper. Take out 3 10mm bolts holding headlight in. Once the headlight is out of the bumper, you will find the ballast directly on the bottum. Remove 2 screws holding bracket ontop of ballast. Remove 4 screws from ballast. Remove ballast. Use an 8mm to adjust the lighting assembly inside the headlight (beam adjustment) This will give clearence to remove the ballast harness and to reinstall. You will end up doing this a few times and is the biggest pain in the *** of this whole process.

Put everthing back, ensure the harness has enough slack to reach the headlight BEFORE affixing the ballast with the 4 screws.

Don't break any clips either, there's a ton.

Some background info, Bought the Garax 6000k bulbs back a year ago. After installing them had issues where the bulb would flicker, sometimes turn off. An issue that has been seen many times in this forum. I ended up having the swap the bulbs from left to right and had no problems for about one year. Then the ballast burnt out @ 68k miles. Picked up two new OEM ballasts for $150 and opted to replace both.

I will agree! Hope NO one has to do this. I knew we had to take the bumper off and the lights out to have access to the ballast but man did they make it a tight fit. Your almost better to heat the light housing to have better access.

Needless we did get them done and both worked so that was a relief.
