Default New Lexus Owner: Performance mods?

I recently purchased a 2008 GS 350 & am looking into performance enhancements. I am quite knowledgeable re: performance enhancements on all types of vehicles with respect to thw how & whys something works to add performance. I am totally new to Lexus ownership, so I'm curious as to basic mods for example I saw this "LEXUS GS 350 2008-2012 X3 Performance Chip with O2 Sensor Control" claiming 50hp gains, K&N CAI claiming 17-18hp, both I find hard to believe. So I'm curious what people are doing for basic bolt-on & tuning to improve performance & what are realistic expectations? I would also like to know impact on warrenty? I would appreciate any feedback.

welcome to clublexus.

whatever "chips" you see, you can forget about them. there are no chips for lexus that really work, and i have seen nothing the past 10 years.

What rominl has already said.

You can always do a custom exhaust to start. The cat back ones as you should already know wouldn't do much as far as actual performance gain.

There aren't really a big support for 3GS as far as gaining power except for forced induction but those are pricey. I'd do lighter rims or suspension mods I guess.

Rule of thumb to get true performance improvements from those "chip"...

Divide claimed HP by 9999999999999 and then subtract the remainder.

Default Thanks

So it doesn't look like there's much out there. I can't picture putting headers on a Lexus, even if they're available, I'm guessing the best CAI unit's going to add max 10 hp, & probably less than that for some type of cat back exhaust/muffler. So performancing tuning these vehicles factory locked? Realistically anything less than 10% gain will not be noticed. But I'm all ears if there's a combo that pics up 10-15% rwhp.
