Also, have you encountered any problems with a Generation 4 10.1/5.1 hybrid disc?

In this thread (posts 452, 453, 459): http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/sh...173730&page=31

That's basically the problem I have. That's why I'm wondering how you were able to get it to work.

I want to be clear..... so you copy both 10.1 and 5.1 to your computer and than burn a new DVD double layer using with 10.1 but replace the Loading.KWI from 5.1? Is this correct?

Correct. Take the loading.kwi from the 5.1 folder and put it in the 10.1 folder.

Since he wanted the newest maps, he would have to buy the latest disc either way.

All this cost him was some blank DVDs. Thats still a lot cheaper than buying any nav override kit

I had the same problem and tried many different things (varying media, different drives, software, etc etc) and couldn't get it to work. The nav would boot up but the region was grayed out.

Ultimately I gave up and just put in the OEM 10.1 disk and lost my override.

Yeah it's weird. Have you tried the 4.2 Loading.kwi file instead of 5.1? Someone suggested using the earlier file in that thread but I haven't seen anyone confirm if they were successful or not.

Did anyone ever get the directions for making the gen 4 hybrid? I looked quite a bit on the Tundra site and could not find reference to it. I only have 4.2 and 12.1, but am ready to buy a 5.1 if I have some sense that it will work!
