Man, I NEVER get 33 mpg from my weak-*** GS 300. How do you do that? Mine is AWD but still, the absolute best I ever saw on the highway was just over 30 when I only had 20K on the odometer.

Love this thread Not many cars out there hold up at 200k quite like a Lexus. My '95 SC400 (totaled last year) that spent 75% of its life outside in WA still looked brand new once I washed/waxed it up. That thing has plenty of life left in it! Keep up the great work

Yes sir. The only things that were changed in this car is the water pump, transmission and motor mounts because I felt they needed to be done and the suspension. Everything else is still the original equipment.
If I'm not mistaken the 3.0 litre engine is fuel injected where the 3.5 is direct injected. The direct injection is a very efficient engine on the highway.
Nice. The GS is a major step up. I do miss the 6 speed manual in the TL but not much else.
That's the two I got this year. I have at least another 3-4 pictures of the other ones from a couple years back. Driving 60,000 miles a year, you're bound to get them. My license is clean. Thanks to n expensive lawyer.
As stated above, all original parts. I crank the tunes all day long too. My wife's 2004 rx with the ml setup has had two blown speakers. It was an issue with the older Lexus cars.
Thanks guys. I'll post more updates soon as I get closer to the 300k mark.

I also love this thread. CL's gonna have to pay you for you for the traffic you generate.
I like the Vossens. I think your idea of painting the inside is right on the money. Looking forward to your next update.

i'm greatly encouraged by your experience with putting the miles on your GS. My 09' GS350 is sitting at 77k (bought it with 74,500 first of Jan 2015) but has only been driven sparingly in town, as my daily driver still gets the heavy use. I replaced tranny fluid, oil, rear-end gear fluid, filters, etc and have every bit of service up to date and about to thrown this thing on the road daily for work. The 308k mi honda accord is going to the 16 year old son and the GS will be taking on some pretty serious mileage, roughly 25-30k per year. Hopefully, she is as reliable as the Honda has been. We'll see.

How many bottles of Genuine Toyota Fluid 00475-1BF03 Brake Fluid - 12 oz do you need to change the brake fluid for the GS300 awd to have plenty to spare?
That is the fluid to buy right?

Thanks. The car is awesome and I'm glad I've kept her up for the past 5 years.
Not sure of the part number but I used a bleeder machine and I needed 5-6 bottles to make sure all was out. I'm sure it can be done with 3-4. I think your GS 300 has a smaller brake caliper in the front? I could be wrong about that but I though they had 2 piston calipers when we have 4 piston calipers.

Well, just saw the first pictures and this one looks pretty much the same brake fluid
I think it would work too, right. Why dot 3 and not dot 4? (have not checked the manual)
Anyways, if this is the correct brake fluid I will probably buy something like 5 bottles to be sure.

I'm not a tech so I couldn't say why you can or can't use the dot 4 instead. I use the dot 3 as recommended. I'm not one to go out of the box when it comes to my cars. Do what the dealer and manufacture says and you can't go wrong.
