Spring question (how much to install?)
I just got my Tanabe NF210's in the mail 2 days ago and decided to take my car by a local shop to get an install quote. They told me $440.00 not including an alignment afterwards or tax! I walked out.
Is this an accurate quote? If so I never would've bought $225 springs if I knew it was going to cost twice the price of the springs to install them. I'll send them back and buy coil overs if that's the case. I was just looking to drop the car an inch f/r and not spend $1000 in the process. After all is said and done I'll have spent close to $800 dropping the car if I get it aligned.
I do have a GS450h and I do have the OEM adjustable suspension, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

After using springs to drop my cars in the past to about ~2inches. I have learned that the quality of ride you receive and the additional wear that gets placed on the struts being out of the optimum travel range is not worth it.
Just buy the coilovers first and save yourself the hassle. I'm on DF springs right now and the ride sucks, very bouncy.
Coilovers and springs are the same install. It should be anywhere from 75-175 for fair pricing. Alignment should be 50-100.

BTW, how do you like that tinted windshield? Notice a better driving experience in sunnier conditions? I'm in AZ so it might be cool do tint my windshield.

If you want to save even more $, try to see if there are any mechanics in your area that would like to work off the clock and you can pay them cash ~$150 because I'm sure they don't get paid nearly as much doing the same install job at their shop or working for the dealer.
