Default Did you get your gas tank topped off with valve spring replacement?

I just got my car back from getting the ALE (valve spring replacement). Not only did I not get my gas tank topped off, but it was 1/4 tank lower than when I dropped it off. Was wondering what everyone elses experiences were so far.

yes, they supposed to. it's clearly in the instruction. go back and talk to them

i talked to my friend who is master tech at dealership and will be doing my recall. and he explicitly asked me to bring in the car low on gas

I was surprised that they didn't, but I didn't see it mentioned in the ALE itself or anything else I could Google.

Do you know what document?

i can't remember which document i read here on clublexus (pretty sure it's 3gs forum), it documents about the recall and in there it says clearly that for the trouble, they are going to fill up the tank as courtesy. i tried to search but couldn't find it

If someone could post a tsb for it that indicates filing up the tank i will print it and take it to lexus next time i go there. I hope they didnt just take those vouchers n fill they're cars with them.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I read and re-read the ALE instructions and didn't see any mention of putting gas in the tank. But given the number and geographic diversity of members who have reported getting a fill up, it must be documented somewhere.

As Henry said THEY ARE SUPPOSED TOO! top off your gas It is in their recall document.

I do believe this is Lexus status quo for large recalls.

The poll says it's not happening.

Not only did I get it topped off.
It was only about 1/4 full when I went in.
They filled it up!

I got a crappy ES loaner though.

Can some one show some proof or TSB that has this stated. This is basiclly word of mouth right now, and its not fair for the rest of us that haven't got it filled (ofcourse only if they were suppose to).

i tried for 1/2 hr this afternoon looking for the place here (CL) where i read about topping off gas as courtesy, but i couldn't find it.

although the fact that my friend told me to bring the car in empty, that pretty much tells me it's in their list of to-do

Taking mine in Wednesday, service advisor told me to bring it in empty because recall included a full tank of gas.

Positive: Had my tank topped off plus other considerations.
.
Negative: Just refilled the tank. Got 13 MPG (all city driving) vs a typical 16-17 MPG. Not complaining - just an observation.
