Default GS 350 LED Turn Signal Hyper Flash Fix

I just replaced all 4 (front and rear) turn signal bulbs with LED bulbs from V-LEDs. After this modification, Hyper Flash has now taken effect since the low voltage of the LED bulbs makes the car think that the bulbs are burnt out. I researched installing resisters in the car to fix this problem, but realized that it would require cutting factory wires (which i don't want to do). Also resisters burn hot. Anyway, i ordered the Electronic 12V 150W LED Flasher Relay Fix (Link below) but i am uncertain of how to install this.

Does anyone know how to properly install this relay?

Also, i saw some posts saying that this relay modification disables the warnings lights (flashers) when you lock and unlock the car. Is this true for the 3rd generation GS, since i saw that post for the 2nd generation GS.

If anyone has any pictures / videos on how to install this relay, that would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!

i did the same thing as you but got the resistor kit from v-leds too. they don't cut the wires, the little blue taps don't cut the wires (at least i don't think they do) and i lined up the hole on the mounting plate to the bolt that sticks out from the top of the bulb hole. no problems with anything melting or burning so far. i asked one of the members on here who installed the module and he said it was a huge pain in the butt.

I just installed complete led set and the flasher relay, the flasher is located on the right side of the steering column shaft just above the brake pedal. It's a gray color with a white plastic clip that it snaps onto. Best way is to disassemble the lower knee bolster area with the emergency lights on, you can hear the ticking sound right above. It wasn't all that bad to convert it all. The only thing you lose is the confirmation light flash when locking or unlocking, you can still hear the beeps tho.

Sounds like much more of a hassle than what it's worth

Not really, just remove 2 philips screws and unhook the lower shroud. You are see the relay above. The relay install is maybe 15min ordeal

Hey guys, I have seen this double color V_Leds bulbs. And aslo ordered them with resistors (with covers). Hope to install them soon.

So, is it possible to change rear turn signals too?
What's the bulb size there ?
The same as in the front, 7440 ?

I also don't know how to install them properly. But have seen pdf - how to make turn signals into DRL with saving original function of turn signals. (sorry for eng)

yes the front and rear turn signals are both the same size (7440A). i switched out all 4 turn signals with LED bulbs from v-leds.

Thanx a lot! I should change them too! ^_^
I just made a mistake by ordering wrong turns

http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...24822-1-2.html

Only then I ordered 2 color bulbs

So I have 2 resistors and 2 pair of 7440/7443 V-Leds bulbs

Do I need resistors for rear LED turns too?

What the electronic flash-blinker means? (150w)
http://www.v-leds.com/BlinkerWarning...81050-1-3.html
Is it for both sides (front+rear) ?

Don't use resistors, especially the ceramic ones, they tend to run hot and occasionally overheat. It also defeats the purpose of led's to since it consumes the remaining watts you'd otherwise save. Use the relay method, its the best way.

Use one or the other, you are not to use resistors and LED relays. I prefer the LED relay method. If you arent sure where it is, click on the emergency lights and stick your head under the dash, you can hear the relay next to the steering column between the brake and gas pedal.

Can you advise me a rele for turns?

You already have expirience, help! =)

Can I use this one >
http://www.v-leds.com/BlinkerWarning...81050-1-3.html
"Flasher replaces standard thermal flasher"
Is this what I need ?

Or better this flasher ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/380187724614

And that's it ? no resistors ?
So it means I can throw all these resistors in the trash ^_^

Only one ELECTRONIC-LED flasher will be necessary to fix fast blinking of ALL turns (rear+front), am I right ?

Thanx for help! no resistors - no troubles!

I understood what this means - "It also defeats the purpose of led's to since it consumes the remaining watts you'd otherwise save." - useless power consuption.

When you open\unopen doors ? When all turns are on for two times ?
That's not good. But not too critical =)

if you have LEDs in front and back you should have just gotten the resistor for 4 bulbs (which is what i got)
with these resistors u only need this one pair to fix all 4 bulbs.

I think electronic led-flasher does the same as the resistors but more easy with installation and better for car's battery life. Cuz if you leave your car with emergency lights "on", your battary will discharge very quick with resistors. (IMHO)

But with electronic led-flasher emergency lights will not even activate until «ACC» or «IGN» are "ON". (I suppose)

username32
Are your emergency lights "ON" when you leave car ?
(when ACC and IGN are "off")

1) You need this specific relay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus...Q5fAccessories

2) You need to locate factory relay which is here, attached to the steering column underneath the dash, (accessible from foot well). Its clipped into a plastic clip on the steering column shaft support. View picture on how it looks, its directly above in between brake and gas pedal.
