Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Finished the box today. Very pleased with the outcome. It turned out exactly as i envisioned. If i decide to go to air suspension, there will be a lot more wood and leather in the trunk, so it will tie everything in a little better i think. Since i have the opportunity, i will try to take some pics at a location here in Wilmington that will look pretty nice IMO. This is my first try at any sort of extensive mods to a car, so i'm interested to see how i did. On to the pics
Fabricating the speaker surround

And the finished product

The two amps are behind the box. Total depth of the box, with space for the amps is 16", so there is still pleanty of room left for golf clubs and travel bags. 'If', and it's a big IF, i decide to go air, i will go with a pancake setup in the spare tire well with plexi cutout surrounded by more wood and leather. Should look pretty nice. Only mods left are a new grill and roof spoiler. Then i'm done. Maybe.

solid job man. You have to buy your dad a beer or two for the help. I love the faux wood grain on the box. Thats an awesome touch. Nice attention to detail and looks better than the regular felt

good carpentry work. i assume you will have fans to keep the amps cool? with the amps behind the box, the amps may overheat without adequate airflow. just a thought. other than that, looking forward to seeing the completed project.

I remember my dad and I doing the same thing in my Mustang. Good stuff. Makes me think I should do it again in my GS! Lookin' good.

thanks everyone. it was a fun project; something that i have been planning to do for a while but just haven't had the time to.
the amps have built in fans, so all is well there
i went with the tan faux leather instead of black to bring more of the cabin theme into the trunk. i have a feeling that i will be doing more work in the future, so it will transtion a little better.

thanks.
i don't notice any difference to this point, but the LC6 is lacking for what i need to have this sound the way i want. once the MS8 arrives, i think i will be very pleased with the end result.
