Exclamation F-Sport Intake (PTR03-30090)

I have seen thread on this site (somewhere in IS forum) where people talked about..
.. difference between PTR03-30090 and PRT-03-30100 part numbers of F-Sport Intakes.
In that thread one said that there are no differences except "manual".
I bought on E-Bay the "090" F-Sport Intake for GS350
F-Sport Air Intake on E-Bay
.. according to this brouchure: ebrochures.lexus.com/services/DownloadPDF

My surprise was absence of a detail called "lower intake box" >

[white arrow shows the difference btw the original lower intake box]

I had no chance to return the intake cuz there are no reasons for that

My aim : to warn you guys!

hmmm. I have the intake as well, and I didn't receive a box. I checked several parts vendors and none of them show or describe the box that appears on that pic from the Westminster site. It looks to me like you got the correct part ... perhaps the picture is from an older version of different model?

I believe that part numbers 30080, 30090 and 30100 are all for the same product.

Have you tried installing it?

Yes. I installed intake for 1 day. A little bit change, not too much "throaty" sound increase.
Uninstalled for sometime to pass without problems "1000 mile service".
Our dealers completely don't care about "warranty-covered problems" if someone has aftermarket details, even F-Sport...
Also had some scratches on chrome tube (long story).. been polished today.
In few weeks I'll get Tanabe Exhaust, and then reinstall F-Sport intake.
Video on youtube before and after - guarantee!

30080 - old p\n for IS. 30100 - new p\n.. according to clublexus.com/f-sport-intake-differance
The pics on that lot for 30080, not for 30090 -
F-Sport Air Intake, which I bought

There is a sign - "Item displayed below is for an IS250"
Westminster also has intake for IS - Intake "PTR30-30100" - for ISx50
There written:
Contents:

* F-Sport chrome intake tube
* F-Sport lower air box
* F-Sport blue filter (reusable)
* Hardware kit
* Emission-legal label
* "do not throw away filter" label
* instructions booklet
+16$ for F-Sport intake box.

So my advise for future owners: buy "PTR03-30100". (especially ISx50 owners)
Otherwise can make holes in OEM intake box like these...

in future maybe I'll make accurate holes as shown in the first pic
but not all of them at once.. step by step (hole by hole ).. to be satisfied with throaty sound
P.S. even if I got some warranty-covered problems, it will be easy to buy new OEM box..
Sorry for English..

LIMS407, I guess you have "090" part number
maybe just little bit "throaty" sound increase
And more power when engine works 1000-2000 (dunno how to say in english )
I try to get this "F-Sport lower intake box" from Sewell seperatly from the kit "100".
Anyway intake will be a good addition to Tanabe exhaust, which I will soon recieve.

2IS Owners: PTR03-53080 --> PTR03-53090 --> PTR03-53100: includes polished tube, lower Box, filter, hardware kit and 2 labels.

GS Owners: PTR03-30090 --> PTR03-30100: includes the polished tube, NO lower box, filter, hardware kit and 2 labels.

The tube, filter and hardware kits are the same across the part number strings above. There were NO physical changes to to the parts during the part number supersessions. For the IS, the F-Sport website at one time claimed to have "up to 3 horsepower" gain for the IS model. I do not suspect anyone would notice a difference with this small increase.

Here's the promotion (still active) for the Air Intake for just $266 specific to GS owners

I hope this helps,
Darrel

what's the difference P\N - "PTR03-53090" for IS or for GS ?
I think - none. Because the kit are the same for both models.
> > >

PTR03-53080 had lower intake box, but this P\N is ~ out of date. No more for sale.
Has been replaced with PTR03-53100, which also has this lower intake box.
But from now on it is only for IS-C .. Why? I don't know..

If P\N - 100 - you will have throaty sound increase
If P\N - 090 - you will not have throaty sound increase

The PTR03-53xxx are strictly for the IS models. The kit contents never changed through its part number changes. The IS250/350 share the same intake kit as the IS-Convertible.

They ALL have the lower intake box that would allow for what others refer to as the throaty sound.

I only say this as we've sold hundreds of these kits and we're very familiar with the installation, the contents and the end results.

With all this, if you remain to disagree - that's okay.

You always sell 100 part number, which has this lower box. It's ok.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus...Q5fAccessories - guys from wesminster sold me 090 part number whithout this intake box.

So if Sewell helping us, maybe you can explain the difference between 090 and 100 part numbers ?
Are you (Sewell) selling all p\n (090 & 100) with this F-Sport Intake Box ???

by the way, westminster has 100 p\n for IS
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus...item2a09d17879
and it has this box ! O_o

Also take a look at the instruction manual (up here) - NO lower box =(

no offence - this is my bad english)

Sewell
Thanx a lot! Now all is clear!
Just the last two question
Can one order/buy the F-Sport lower box seperatly from the kit ?
If it's possible please post Part Number here.

Offtop:
I have heard that Lexus all-weather floor mats for GS350 AWD aren't on sale any more. Is it true? (PT908-30051-02)

johnnunez2
K&N was too loud even on IS250 for me.
K&N very good anyway, but not for daily ride =)

The F-Sport intake kit specific to the GS does not have an option for a revised/improved lower intake box - only the IS.

Engines in GS350 and IS350 are almost the same I suppose.
So different kits for one engine ... hm..
It's not question ) just thoughts )
The engines are not the same ? )
