Default Possibly purchasing a 2006 gs300 need counsel

I have looked/driven in 2007-20008 gs350s. I found them to be very nice, but the engine was not overly exciting. I might be able to purchase a 2006 QSM color (almost no options) with 26k miles on it for around $20k from a private seller. I am aware of how "slow" the 2006s are, but it is a good price. My question is thus: if I plan to keep the car 3 years, is it really worth it to spend $7-8k more for a fully loaded 2007 gs350? I currently drive a maxima which I love, but its getting to be a bit old. Any advice from 3gs owners is greatly appreciated.

2007 models come with upgraded navigation (better screen) , bigger brakes and more powerful engine. 2008 models include all of the above plus a newer grill and front bumper, as well as the side mirrors. If you can find a nice 07 or even an 08 below 30k , I'd say go for it.

With going from a 2006 GS430 to a 2006 GS300 and have had a 2010 GS350 loaner car for 2 weeks the power difference is really not that noticable. Considering these are luxury sedans, they are too heavy to be really quick. I will say that the nav in 2007 has better resolution than the 2006 and would really be the only thing I would change on my GS300. As for gas mileage, the GS300 at 85 to 90 mph still got over 30+ mpg, the GS430 only got 24 mpg at best and the GS350 wasnt much better. You should be able to find a clean 2006 GS300 with ML and most other options for 24k easily.

I drove an 06 Navy blue with cashmere interior stripped model (no big options but ventilated seats) 36k miles and got them down to $25,900. The v6 seemed slow but not much different than the gs350 I drove. Right now I'm between this and a 2007 g35 sedan. It is hard to pass up a 1 owner 2006 25k mile GS300 for $20,000-$21,000.

I would suggest a 2007 with little more miles for about 26-28.

No recall or carbon issues with the 300 or 430

I currently am trying to sell my 07 GS350 RWD. FULLY LOADED FULLY. However mine is sitting at 58k miles. I am moving back to my country, Korea before 8/22. I am trying to sell my car around 22~24k and I wondering If this will help you to decide whether that you want either 06 or 07.

I think you really should considering getting low miles 07+ gs350.

Get the gs 300 and save the 7-8k to buy a sport bike to smoke those that put down the 300. How much "faster" do you think you're going to get with the GS 350? If it's a good deal, jump on it, especially it's black on black. If I was going to spend 30k, I'd spend it on a 2006 BMW 750i.

I've driven a gs350 and truly did not think it was that much faster than a gs300 I drove. It's QSM color with a grey interior....I looked at an 07 750i but it had too many miles for a bimmer.

25K miles on a 06 GS300 for $20-$21K is a really good deal IMO. No need to search for 07 GS350.

$20-21K for a 2006 with 25K miles is damm good. I'm buying out my lease which ends next month on my 06 GS300 with 60K miles for $18,800. I've got way too much money into it and the price seemed reasonable considering how much others out there are selling for.

I say go for the 06 and save the money to buy wheels and make it look tight.
