Default Clear Bra

I had a 3M Clear Bra put on the hood and side panals today. Its to sunny here to get any good picture but I'm impressed with the results I did not get the bumper done but I may later. Total cost $125.88.

congrats! so you only did the hood and fenders, didn't do the bumper? 126 sounds like a great great price!

Very good price. You should get the bumper done too. I bought my car used and it already had one installed and it has protected it so well that the areas it covers look spotless and brand new. $125 is super cheap for such great protection too.

Could you share which shop did this work for you? Is it a larger name chain that might also be in the Austin-San Antonio area? Your price is good!

Default Replacement

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I had the 3M clearbra installed on the bumpers, hood, mirrors. My hood is immaculate - knock on wood.

Wasn't paying attention one morning and scuffed a fence. Clearbra seems to have taken most of the damage.

How hard is it to replace?

replacement shouldn't be too bad. a good shop can lift the whole damaged film relatively easy and just put on a new one

Can't see any bra, but just the real stuff underneath Would it work equally well on a dark color car? Mine is a grey 2006.

Default Price

The price I paid was just for the hood and sides, $625.00 for everything. As far as it looking good on a darker vehicle. I do not know maybe someone has pictures of theirs.

My clear mask was installed by Sewell since new ( covered 1/3 of hood, fenders, and bumper), just got it replaced last week under 4yr/50k warranty (back then cost $1,600 now is less than $800)!!!

First picture is after 3 1/2 years of Texas weather, as you look closely it was turning yellow.

Second picture is newly installed, brand spanking new!!!

I ordered extra blank sheet of clear mask from eBay, so I could custom cut it to cover lower fenders (area right behind the wheel wells, so it would not get chipped) act as splash guard. So once it either gets dirty or damaged I just spray and peel and reinstall, piece a cake!!!

The only thing you need to remove the old clear mask is...mix a cap full of Johnson & Johnson's baby shampoo with a quart of water.
