Default New GS coming in 2011 is a myth

I have a hard time believing Lexus is doing this good of a job keeping a new 2011 GS this hush hush...I am thinking the new GS is still a couple if not a few years out. Unless Lexus is really that good about keeping things secretive which I don't really think is the case. Maybe I am just having wishful thinking since I just purchased a brand new leftover 2009...and would hate to see a new body style that blows this one away!

I know for a fact that the 4th gen is far away since they're isn't any spy shots of it yet or any leaked photos .

FWIW some dealers have already seen the next GS so it's coming sooner than you think

They working on it in Japan, who knows if they are testing it there or not. Im sure its an expensive trip for spy photographer to travel to Japan just to snap a few test mule pics of a 4GS......

bmw 5 series went on sale july 2003 as 2004 model.

it had a 7 year run.

we won't get it until 2012 as a 2013 model.

I never even knew there were people speculation that a new one was coming in 2011. I'm guess the IS is getting a refresh before the GS and there doesn't look to be one in sight.

The GS got a refresh awhile ago. 2008 I think? The IS has also already been refreshed. Anyway with the early refresh don't you think that means there could be an early remodel as well?

Anyway this is all speculation and we've been down this route COUNTLESS times. There are so many 7+ page 4GS threads in this forum

Having followed the GS since day one Lexus always has done a fantastic job hiding the car from spies. We didn't get much any spy photos for the current model FYI, it wasn't until Lexus themselves released "spy" photos of the car at the "Ring" did we see its shape.

So this is nothing unusual. As I've reported Lexus dealers have seen it and their feedback is it looks beautiful and will be revolutionary in drive.

Below are hte only "spy" photos we got, from Lexus (there are 2 more). The photos came out around October 2004 and the car debuted the following month during an Auto Show.

What I find odd about those spy shots are the rims. 2006 MY didn't have those rims available. They because optional in 2007 MY. Why would those rims make an appearance 2+ years before becoming available?

On a related note, my lease expires in a couple months. I've received many calls from Lexus, Infiniti, BMW and MB soliciting my business. Now..how the heck does Infiniti, BMW and MB knows my lease expires soon???

Lexus has always been very good keeping things in the hush hush. They have started to slip with the RX and HS but they still dont have as many slips as BMW and Benz. plus with toyot having their own track, it woul be easy to keep everything in wraps

That's very interesting. Who are you financed through?

By the way, my heart sunk when I read the title of this thread. I personally believe the 4GS is coming sooner than we think.

Bushwack,

Those wheels where on the 2006 GS430 sedan, not GS300 sedan. I have those rims on my GS300 AWD right now. I love them.
