Default New (almost) 350 owner...CAN'T WAIT

Hello all,

After four consecutive 4Runners, I am on the verge of becoming the proud owner of a 2008 CPO black/black GS350 with every option there is. I think my mid-life crisis has led me to this car and man, I can't wait to finally get it.

I have a very good friend who is the GM of a Lexus dealership here so I know I was well-taken-care of with the price. He's just making me hold off formally buying until April 1 since there are financing incentives from Lexus starting April 1.

I've already been reading a bunch of posts and threads here - HID bulbs (I want 8000k like I installed in my Runner), new tires, DIY oil change. They will put my tire of choice on there so I have to let him know within the next 10 days. He is insisting on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus but I would like to know what other members think of the tires they have.

Tires - I'm stuck between the Pilot Sport A/S Plus and the Turanza Serenity. Yeah, I know, two completely different categories - Ultra High Performance All Season v. Grand Touring. The tester I drove (Starfire Pearl - awesome color but it had gray interior, I wanted black) had brand new Pilot Sports and it was surprising to me just how quiet and smooth those tires were for an UHP tire. Really great ride. Any Serenity owners out there who can comment on their tires?

Bulbs - everyone seems to love Garax. I bought my kit from Autoxen about 4 years ago and it's been perfect. Any other comments on bulbs are appreciated.

And finally - what the heck does ML stand for????

Thanks again and I'm really looking forward to being a member here.

You realize that OEM HID 4300K light bulbs will give you much more light then the 8000K bulbs, right?

Yeah I would advise against changing the bulbs as well. It seems like a downgrade IMO and makes it look like you have a cheap HID kit installed.

Welcome to the club, in regards to tires I love my bridgestone potenza RE960 Pole position. They are comparable to the michelin pilot sport. If you go to tirerack.com they have reviews and ratings on all tires. It was very helpful when I was looking to buy new tires.

GL and post pics.

Thanks all. Yeah, I realize the issues with the light, but I have 8000k on my Runner and it's plenty of light, more than enough. That said, I may stick with the 6000k based on popular opinion.

I'm a tire rack junkie, am well aware of their ratings, just wanted to hear from GS owners as to their likes and dislikes.

Can't wait and oh yeah, I sure will post pics.
