Default Drivers Door Hard to Close?

As of recent my Drivers Door seems like dead weight and is very hard to close compared to my other doors. No accidents or hitting anything. I checked the hinges and they are fine and the door is lined up perfect. Door is not rubbing anything either when its closing. All seems to be normal from inspecting. All the other doors are just fine.

If I push the door with light force it comes back toward me Maybe someone that had a 2gen GS maybe had this issue before?

Nope..I haven't done a thing to the car. Its too cold to be working on the car. This is why its so odd that this just happened with no evidence of anything. I could see if someone backed up into my car or my door was flung open on a windy day but no one drives the car but me and I hardly drive it as it is.

I really dont want to drop it at the dealer unless I have to. Much rather fix it myself if I can.

Try cracking the moonroof. I should be easier to close after that. It lets the air escape easier when you close the door.

^ its not that. If I have all doors closed and open any of the other three doors are fine. Its just the driver side front door. Also if I close the door and it doesn't latch all the way there is a lot of pressure on it? The other 3 doors if its not closed all they way I can push the doors easily....not my door?

maybe I will try to post a youtube of it...

Try the easy thing first. Shoot a bunch of white lithium grease on the hinges and work it in.

I think there is a TSB (but not a recall) on the hinges. I had the 'dead weight' problem last year and got it fixed, no charge. I don't remember the specific details but worth asking.

But... don't use WD-40, use white lithium grease. WD-40 is not a lubricant, it's mostly a solvent. The slippery stuff is mostly the carrier that rapidly evaporates. It's good for cleaning gunk and junk, but it is not a good long term lubricant.

You'll mostly find people start having problems with this that do their own oil changes and forget about the "lube". This is the "lube" part of a typical "oil+lube" job. While you're at it, make sure you give a few shots to the hood and trunk latches... it also prevents rust.

Same thing happened to my car. The solution is in the hinge. they replaced my hinge and now my door is smoother than the rest. but im not complaining. hope this helps.

^ Thanks. I think the hinge is dead myself. Its lubed just fine like the other doors. Guess I will stop at the dealer...gives me a reason to finally go link up the key card fob that's been sitting on my desk for months.

Finally took the car in to find out it was the hinges Nothing like waiting forever. I got tired of having to close my door twice

They have to order hinges, get them painted, then my car has to go to the body shop for install. ugh. I hope this is not a common issue. I heard this was an issue with the 2gen GS?

Did they say what exactly went wrong with the hinge? I mean, it's a hinge... did it just "randomly" warp somehow?
