Question Turning off auto door lock and unlock?

Does anyone know how to turn off the auto lock and unlock feature when we shift our vehicle into drive or park?

That's a dance step somewhere on here to do it, search for it.

Too bad I want the car auto lock when I leave.

006. Automatic Door Locking and Unlocking

1) Close all doors and turn ACC on
2) Within 10 seconds, shift the gear to P or N, and press and HOLD Door Lock, or Door Unlock
3) The car will auto lock and unlock to inform you the setting is memorized.
Corresponding Settings
When stay shift at P, door automatically lock when shifting gears. (Press Lock to enable, unlock to disable)
When shift to N, door automatically lock by speed-linked. (Press Lock to enable, unlock to disable)

I'll try to decipher this in the morning...

It's clearly stated in the manual, as well.

I'm fine with my car on this.

But what I want is when I shut down the engine, open/close door, I want the car to lock within 2mins when it doesn't detect the key. I don't want to press the button at the door to lock it, maybe my hands are full, maybe I forgot, maybe I didn't press the button hard enough to lock, whatever the reason I want it to see that the keyless is no longer inside the car and should lock the doors.

The car owner manual? My 3 previous times that I refer to the manual it pretty much say "Go to dealer". I've never seen such a useless manual. CL is my best friend, I got lots of help and answer on here and most of my problems is already posted and discussed.

Not a feature that's supported. Would be a nice option to have but not going to happen.

No, it actually says specifically what to do:

I suggest reading it more carefully. We really don't need threads asking how to do something clearly stated in the manual. Likewise, use search as well, since this was asked at least 2-3 times recently.

Thanks ivanz, I'll check it just for the sake of it when I get a chance... just to see if it's in mine.

The 3 times I refer to the manual:
1 - change bulb
2 - reset oil change warning, oil change etc.
3 - headlight aim (pretty much say turn A, B and if it doesn't work go to dealer)

Yep, good idea. Will save you lots of time...I read it 2 years back and its quite detailed compared to other cars. It tells you how to change every single bulb in the DIY section, along with how to reset engine oil light (US only) along with a detailed 2 pages of how to aim the headlights. If you want, I can post pics

Again, in the manual under 2-1 "Starting the Engine."

I would like this feature too, but I would like it to lock the moment the key is out of range.

However I have discussed it with 4 Lexus dealerships (My parents dealer in Atlanta, and 3 in Miami I visited before picking my regular service dept) and they all say that this is not possible.
