Question Only one headlight stays on

My headlights are always set to 'Auto'. After I turn my car off at night, I noticed that only the driver side headlight stays on...is this normal? I looked through the manual and could not find any 'settings' for this, help?

The bulb probably just burn out. You do have an 06. Have you changed the bulb before?

Your first thought was to check for a "only one headlight" setting? Really?

both should stay on when the auto light go on. I would run it to the dealership./ Its probably a quick fix with a bulb.

sounds like a burnt bulb. if you use auto, the headlights stay on for 30 seconds after the car is shut off before turning off.

On my BMW there was a setting to leave either the driverside or passanger side headlight/taillight on while parked (so that oncomming cars can see that there was a car parked on the side). So I thought it would be a similar setting...sorry for 'sounding' like a fool...

Also, the weird thing is that when I go back to turn the car on..BOTH headlights turn on

I see, we misunderstood your message.

He's talking about the delayed-off headlight feature. I know that you can set a specified amount of time (default 30 seconds?) that headlights stay on after you get out and lock the car... but I am unaware if you can set it to keep only one light on. The delay time can only be set by lexus, perhaps the "one on" is indeed a hidden lexus preference. You should ask your dealership.

My drivers side headlight is on for 2mins then turns itself off,

I wonder if its the bulb? as it works for the first 2 mins, by the time I get home its off.

Different issue than the OP. Switch bulbs left to right and see if the problem moves with it (as has been regurgitated about 100 times only in the last couple of months on this board).

If you bought new bulbs...... then you bought the wrong ones. Some cheap "ebay brands" usa a d2s bulb housing for there d4s bulbs ...make sure you use a brand name bulb like garax. I had the same problem when i bought some cheap bulbs

Bring it to Lexus and tell them that you want your car to do it and how long. Personally, I wish mine didn't do it but I'm not willing to pay them to change the setting now. I always feel like I need to stick around to see them switch off.

My headlights turn off the moment I open the driver door to leave. If I want it to stay on I can turn the headlight off and back on.

But usually I manually turn off my headlight so when I start the headlight won't flickers during starting.

Your headlight shouldn't flicker when starting. Mine don't, they ignite instantly, "look up" (leveling), and stay on solid when starting the car every time. I forget, do you use non-philips bulbs?

Bin, U R talking about this?

OEM bulbs. The moment I press the Start, the lights turn on right away and the engine cranks. The headlight level seem to move down and back up but the light itself dims in and out until the engine runs.
