Default Performance Parts for my 460!

My car just hit 3k KM's and I thought I need something new. I am considering adding a exhaust system/Midpipe to it. My only aim from this is performance first, then sound.

Here is a website I found listing exhaust systems: http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/perf...xhaust_Systems

And ofcourse, you all should know about the upcoming Invidia Midpipes.

Now my questions are:
1) Which of the exhausts do you recommend? Tanabe or Greddy.
2) Should I take this up with the dealership first? IE, warranty issues?
3) Does it have a negative effect on the cars future?
4) DO they actually add performance? Since they both hit the $1k Per....

Thankss

1) I hear tanabe is pretty quite exhaust. that could change though with the midpipes. as far as greddy, i havent heard anything about any 3GS members with one

2) they can not void your warranty.

3) im sure the mpg will drop a few but very minor to worry about

4) yes it does add a few hps. how many? dont know.

tanabe is quieter than greddy in general. i have tanabe and i am very happy

you should ask your dealership about warranty. in the US we have law to protect us saying aftermarket parts don't void warranty, but have no idea about over there

gas mileage, hard to say, but not something significant enough for me to worry

maybe a few hp, but again i wouldn't think it's anything significant at all

I had a Tanabe and took it off and put the factory back on. My car actually feels like it has more power now, ironically! I think the added 'roar' with the Tanabe makes it feel like it should be more powerful. Now that I don't hear that 'roar', my car *feels* quicker. All in my head, of course.

But yeah, the Tanabe isn't THAT loud but honestly, I don't think it adds anything, power-wise. Also, it should actually increase fuel economy as in theory, the engine becomes more efficient. Again, that's just theory. My opinion is is that on these cars, exhausts are merely for sound.

Yeah, a midpipe will probably help because it gets rid of the restriction. Couple it with an exhaust though otherwise you'll have a bottleneck.

To me, automatics with exhaust systems aren't my cup of tea. Just my $.02 though.

tanabe is just the muffler, pretty much the rear section. midpipe is self explanatory. x pipe would be the one in the middle or early section of the exhaust system where the two pipes cross each other

And What about a Cat-Back?
http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhaust.asp

Which one of those do you members have?? Medalion touring or Tuner medalion?? I cant believe a muffler only costs $1k!

cat back means it's from the catalyst on all the way to the back. i don't think tanabe has tuner for the gs, only medalion. you can always go custom

the tanabe exhaust is an axle back exhaust meaning it starts at the rear axle and goes back to the exhaust tips. cat back is like rominl said is from the cats all the way back.
