Default Spacers on GS460

Hi guys

I wanted a more aggressive stance on my car, so I decided to put on 25mm spacers and hopefully give me an indication on to how much lower my car will sit when I do decide to lower it.

The spacers i got were from TS Sportsline, they are hubcentric and bolt onto the hub and then the OEM wheels bolt onto them.

Unfortunately, my car shakes above 60mph. The smoothest ride is at around 55mph.

I took them off this morning, but I really liked the stance of the car with the spacers on.

I have 2 question/:

1. Why does the lexus shake like that with spacers? I have 30mm hubcentric spacers on my BMW E60 and it's fine.

2. Aprt from installing aftermarket wheels, what are my option to get a wide stance with OEM wheels? Will I be safe with 15mm spacers? Or will it still shake?

Any input would be highly appreciated.

I attach some pictures I took before removing the spacers.

it's not lexus problem, it's the spacers / tq, etc... a lot of people have spacers / adapters on their cars and if they are good quality and installed right, there shouldn't be any vibrations

Agree with rominl. I'd venture to say that it's either a torque issue or a quality issue with the spacer. Even though they are hubcentric, doesn't mean that the spacer itself is balanced properly

Any recommendations as to what brand is the most reliable, because i sincerely think 20mm's would be a perfect offset for my car!

H&R's? Ichiba?

So.... I still can't take spacers lightly:

1st: Sportsline 25mm = vibration
2nd: Ichiba V2 20mm = vibration
2rd: Ichiba V1 10mm = vibration

No spacers with OEM wheels = no vibrations
No spacers with MRR wheels = no vibrations

Are you torquing the spacers down? If so what Torque spec are you using.

I just installed ichiba V2 20mm spacers up front and back - no vibrations w/ stocks or w/ 20 inch staggered rims w/ hub rings. I torqued all the bolts down 80lbs.

Are you hand torquing the wheels back on? if your using a gun that can cause a shimmy. do your wheels need hub rings, or is your center bore the same as your factory wheels. I have Ichiba V 1 10mm on the front and H&R 5mm on the rear and my car rides smooth. I can t believe that you have used 3 different brand spacers and they all are fudged up. Good luck!

The Sportsline 25mm had no hub rings. And were not the right bore size. So chucked those out!

The V2 Ichiba 20mm came with rings, but were slightly larger than the hub bore. So chucked those out.

The V1 10mm are the ones with longer studs. These also came with rings. And they fit tight and snug into my wheels which also came with hub rings.

If it doesn't turn out to be a torque issue, could it be the studs? Is it possible that the studs were not installed properly? Don't they usually correct themselves in line once torqued?

It's definitely a possibility, however I think u would notice by looking at the studs if one or more of them weren t straight and from what I understand if u don t get those studs in right they will spin when u go to take off the lug which is a nightmare!! Like said try hand torquing everything in a star pattern, just this could solve your problem!
