Hi,

I have the 19 fsports for my gs wrapped with pilot sports a/s+. yesterday night I hit a curve at 20mph and popped both front and rear right side tires. The rear rim got bent just a little. the front just has scratches.

my question is, the rear rim is slightly bent in just a tad on the outside lip. can I still use this rim or do I have to get a new one? I took both rims to costco to get my tires replaced for free, but the tech didn't know if I can still use the rear rim. anyone have any info will def. help.

Depending on how the lip looks(I'm on the phone, its hard to do research).... and depending on how "bent" it is, you cannot determine if the wheel will hold air.... best thing to do is mount the tire and git'er done =) if it doesn't hold air, take it to a wheel shop for repair

yes, sometimes a bent wheel will still hold air, though you might get vibration when driving

but a lot of times you can just fix a bent wheel instead of getting a new one

Agree with both responses. Just depends. If you for both tires replaced, it seems as though it's holding air ok. You may be able to get it repaired otherwise. I want to know how the heck both tires popped?

^what he said. that's the exact combo of wheel/tire I'm leaning towards...you're not instilling me with any confidence. so much for OEM quality.

where in jersey are you? i took my wheels to a guy in burlington, nj on route 130 to have some curb rash fixed. he repairs bent wheels too.

you rub any wheel at 20mph, you will bend it and tire will rub the curb and deflate or come off the bead or whatever

The front wheel chipped a piece of the lip on the curve i guess and made a hole on the sidewall dime width. when I got out the car and pressed against the tire, the piece fell off. The rear is the one that is bent. when the wheel bent it caused the tire to rip from where the tires and the rims touch? it has a inch long rip on the sidewall.

Costco is replacing the tire for free so nothing is coming out of my pocket. it just takes a week for the tires to get here. the tech told me he wont know until he mounts the tires on the bent wheel to see if it will hold. he also said i might have alignment problems even if it holds.

im in north jersey by garden state mall. will the repaired rim be good as new? or is it better to jsut get a new one if im gonna have problems with it?

anyone know where to get just 1 of these rims without paying the absurd 900 my dealer quoted me?

and yeah, if you curbed the wheels that way, alignment could be knocked off

The tech at costco told me he will try to unbend it because they have a machine for that he said. so i left both rims there until they receive the tires. also i dont have time this weekend to go around places and i dont know where to go either. around my area

damn...front and rears popped...either you were to busy texting while driving, had to much to drink, or you thought you were the tokyo drifter...j/p. hope you get your f-19's fixed.
