definitely invest in a Torque Wrench... For our 2 Gen GS's they require 76ft lbs... not sure what the 3 GS is rated at but most shops if not all air power the lugs nuts on and they end up being over a 100ft lbs... Trying to loosen them after you get your car back from the shop is a PITA....

torque wrench was ordered and received! i have a digital torque wrench but the batteries are dead (and keep dying) and i really dont trust it all the way. so the newest addition is my mechanical torque wrench! i work at the tundra/tacoma plant in texas. the stock aluminum lugs that comes with the gs are identical to the ones we use on the tacoma. the target torque is 125NM, but this is on a truck and im not sure if they share the same studs.

its 76ft lbs. for the 3gs as well.

i always torque mine to around 85-90 on all the cars ive had. everytime i try to torque it in the 70's the lugnuts come loose. so i have been doing 85-90 with no problems.

stick to the manual type. i dont really trust the electrical ones. and just an FYI all torque wrenches need recalibration after awhile. i get it done every year.

stick with manual unless youre getting a high digital wrench. the ones at my work are no joke and cost minimum of $2k a piece, but thats a whole other story. the digital wrench i have is a brownline digital wrench and i a tektra manual torque wrench. both can be found at amazon

I just bought 1/2" drive torque wrench from Harbor freight and the the instructions say recalibrate every 6 months. where do they get re calibrated at? I have the larger 3/8 drive as well. both manual versions

I wouldn't rely on there torque wrenches. This is what I got

TEKTON 24335 1/2-Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench, 10-150-Foot/Pound https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C5ZL0RU/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_O6g7ub1EJHQ0E

i just give it to the snap on truck guy that goes to my Stepdad's shop and he gives it back the next time he comes around... usually under a week.

just after every use, return it to the lowest setting to make the calibration last as long as possible. i dont use it that often to have to get it re calibrated every 6 months. however i do have a smaller torque wrench both ft/lb and in/lb that i give to the snap-on guy every 3 months cus i use it for everything when i have the torque specs.

i agree with justyng about the reliability of harbor freights. i compared it to the snap-on one i got and it runs off every so often. like i was getting +5lbs one time then tested at another weight i was getting like -10lbs... but this is using the harbor frieght one for awhile. but, you need to get that recalibrated im sure if you take it to harbor freight they will probably just give you a new one lol.
