Default Chrome Window Trim

Just curious to see if anyone has painted this? The chrome piece that pretty much runs around the whole windows (see picture below)

I searched and found a pic of someone who taped theirs off to get an idea of how it would look.

Has anyone done this and if so, do you have pics? Is this part easily removable?

people did this on bmw all the time.. i've seen it in person, i cannot tell it's vinyl tape

of course it's from a very skilled person, i personally think it makes the car more sporty

*i was referring to people that actually taped the chrome part instead of painting it.. because it'll be very prone to chipping.

if you're gonna do this, do it to the grille chrome trim too and roll on all black 2 piece rims. then it would look proper

Vinyl will save more money, and you won't have to sand

Only askin because I'm doin my roof black tomorrow and I'm removing the ugly chrome pillars also. With black tint, pretty much the top half of the car will be black except that chrome trim. I'll have it wrapped and see how it looks.

There is a thread where a guy I think in a matador GS painted his window trim black or black chrome. It came out pretty good. Job-Design has black chrome parts for the chrome around the headlights.

THe F-sport GS on the show circuit has it in a dark matte finish.

That black chrome trims look really nice, kind of like the brush nickel look, it still looks classy and not too over done.

How did you take those pieces off? Thinking about murdering out the front of the car myself...
