help, how to install dvd player
ok guys im new to this forum but im not new to working on cars, in many cars i have installed indash dvd players, universal dvd players, sound systems and all that good stuff, this is the first time im going to work on a newer lexus, i bought the NAVTOOL so i can add a dvd player to my car, the navtool installation is very simple, but the universal dvd player is the one that im wondering what to do with, usually in other cars (honda, mitsu, acura etc..) i can splice into the harness to get the acc,12volt, and ground but most of the cars i do already have aftermarket headunits so i just put in those connections with the after market harness, this car is very nice and expensive and i dont want to just splice into wires and stuff, what do you guys recommend in order to connect the wires to get the dvd to operate (the power wire, ground, acc, and any other wire im missing to mention) thanks guys, let me know

i tapped into my vais sls there a clip with a red wire and one with red with white stripe the red was acc and the red with white stripe was 12v those are the wires i used i just pinned it in with the point from a test light try and and get a test light and you will be able to find the wires you need if your not using vais you might want to look at the 12pin connector use any of the wires from the head unit so long it gives power with acc and then find the wire that gives 12v might

I thought you said you were use to working on cars..... go out buy a multi meter and test for a 12v constant behind the deck or at the fuse box as long as its more then 10amps you will be fine, then test for a acc wire by turning on and off the Ign
