Is the dealer correct?
I brought my car in for the 1k service, so while I was there, I inquired about some other small items.
One of which is the "rolling up windows" feature. On page 23 of my owners manual, it says that if you press that little black button on the door handle, all windows, and the sunroof will close. All mine does is turns on the alarm, and locks the car. When I first told them about it, they told me that it's a custom option that they'd have to turn on. Later when I picked the car up, they told me that it's not a feature for the GS460, and the owners manual is just a "generic" manual. Are they correct?
With my remote, I can press the unlock button to open all windows, and sunroof. The lock button won't close them.
I have to use the metal key to close them.
1. Does your door handle button close your windows?
2. Does your lock button on the remote close your windows?
Please try them on yours, and let me know.
Thanks,
Kevin

The reason I didn't want to use the switches is it's inconvenient when you've already gotten out of the car. At least using the metal key still works so I don't have to get back into the car.
Also, I am just surprised the manual is wrong.

Actually we are suppose be able to close all windows and sunroof when "LOCK" is pressed on the remote.
Due to the "anti-pinch" regulation in the US, they disable that feature. B/c my GS in Taiwan does closed all windows and sunroof when "LOCK" is pressed (a very expensive feature, in Taiwan GS cost over $80K)!!!
Maybe I will try to ask my service advisor to see if they would "activate" that feature on mine, since we do not have any kid (maybe I have to sign a wavier).
I will let you know when I bring my in for 20k service, see if they would activate it for me.

US has some of the toughest regulations on cars, you'll be surprised how many features are disabled for US markets
my cousin has satellite TV on their RX in taiwan
