Just got an email saying the update is available for purchase and $200 with $50 rebate, not bad of a price, the question is, is it worth the upgrade for those the have it?

worth it depends on how old your old the other one is, how much new development has been done in areas you drive. the jump from 5 to 7 was worth it to me tho i lost the finger dance as everybody knows. i too am curious if it will function with either the wire hack or plug n play. Lexus is diabolical when it comes to this.

got confirmation that the 8.1 will not mess with the wire hack or the switch mod, i am sure it'll be fine with the plug and play kit

I will test it with a 8.1 disk this week to see if i can see any noticeable differences

i first read the add as $250 if you use the code and get the rebate (which means down from $300 tho it's not stated exactly way). I sure like your interpretation $250 down to $200, better. Reading it again, i'm not sure what it means. It can be had for $200?

well. the way i read it is

$250 with coupon code.. and it says "AND" $50 rebate if you return it with your old disk.

so.. $200 OTD

I did the update every year, I usually buy the new one at a discount (say $250) and then sell the old one on ebay (around $100-150), so it not a bad price in the end !
My order has already been put and processed weeks ago ! I will post info as soon as I receive the disk...

I understand. My first read was that a coupon code AND $50 rebate (implied that both together) got you to $250. Your way is better.

I have the 8.1 installed, all the new streets next to my home are updated so is my brother's new house in CA

do you have the nav hack or plug and play kit? if so i assume no worries since you didn't mention any complications.

streets around me are finished Oct of 07 in AZ I think.. so up until then is a good bet that it's updated in 8.1

The price is 249.99 with the promotion code. You then have the option to return your disc for a 50.00 rebate.
