Count me in, picked up my 06 GS430 CPO!
Hello!
I did not have time to report that I have recently picked up my 06 CPO GS 430. Luckily, I was able to save lots of greens and to get the car with only 25k miles on it. To my surprise, the car was not even advertised as fully loaded ML, as it appeared to be on the lot. I love the shadow Quartz color as it is bluer to me as in comparison to the original blue.
Things I love and am getting used to so far:
+ Very powerful, stylish and solid.
+ I can hear the speed demon calling for more while pushing over 75 (Never had V8 before).
+ 18in and tight suspension
+ The car is getting a lot of attention on the road
+ 19-20 per gal compare to my 21-22 on GS 300, quite not bad.
+ 18 in 5 spoke gun metal alum wheels are the best stock I have ever seen.
- The brakes are whistling while backing out of garage in the morning (embarrassing).
- The brakes are not as affective as on my 98 GS 300 until you really hit them hard, I like it more on the soft side with a lot of room for emergency braking and "punishment/education" of not well behaving drivers (LOL).
- My onboard comp only reads 265mi on a full tank (where the heck 2-3 gallons are hiding?). GS300 can go ~400+. It needs bigger tank.
- The hidden control panel is not visible at all from my sitting position.
- The day lights are yellow and cheesy (will be replacing soon). They seem to annoy a lot of slow drivers in front (big plus).
- Will have to adjust HIDs as they are pointed way too low, not a problem as I have fixed it on RX already.
I totally in love with this car and like it more and more every day compare to my 300.
I do have couple of questions as I could not find any information about it:
1. One white led on the top console stays on at night all the time, drives me nuts. How to turn off?
2. The wheels have some spots on them, what is the safest best cleaner type should be used? I have nearly destroyed my Works wheels the last time by using some strong formula.
3. What is the best recommended (balanced sport/comfort) tire brand for 18 inch? The dealer installed Yakohamas are drifting sideways a little on some surfaces.
4. The ML seems to be missing some serious BASS. My wife and I might be nuts but we don't hear enough in comparison to stock RX and GS radios.
Now I'm an official member of three forums! Hooray!

the mood light is always on, in case you haven't noticed, they are pretty much implementing that on every single car manufactures now
you can completely turn it off by dimming your instrument clusters light all the way down, but then, you won't be able to see any other lights
just get used it and welcome to the 3GS family

first off, congrats!
regarding the led light lighting the middle console, i actually like it, but i don't think there is a way to turn it off....i couldn't find it either.
regarding the Mark Levinson package....i can totally tell the difference between the ML in the GS vs. the stock in the RX. HUGE difference. but then again, sound quality is very subjective and it may also depend on the type of music you were listening to.
congrats again!

Congratulations!!!
You mentioned that your computer only shows 265 miles on a full tank of gas. That can't be right!?? You have a 18.8 gallon gas tank. 18.8 X 20 mi/gal = 376 miles. That's about what my computer reads when the tank is full.
By-the-way, watch out for the control panel, it's a real knee knocker.
You will notice that when your breezing up a hill at 85 miles per hour, passing all those SUV's, you tachometer is only showing about 2800 rpms. Nothing like eight pistons cranking out the power. Enjoy!!!!

Congrads on the GS! Nice choice in color and options. Just picked up one in Red like yours.
Brakes are VERY touch in this car IMO. I feel I barely touch them and they bite.
The ML does lack Bass compared to the 2gen IS IMO. I do like the sound of the ML better in the GS. You can add a sub or two in the trunk with an amp and have any custom stereo shop install with a mono amp for a few hundred dollars and you will be very pleased in the difference.
I just dropped mine off this am. I had two things on mine that seemed to be wrong. The rear view mirror was loose and the P/A goes nuts in reverse ever so often for no reason?
All in all you got a great car IMO. I like the extra room compared to the last car and I NEVER thought I would say that.
Now its time to start modding!!! Some nice rims, a little drop,
