I would say don't get one because they are everywhere (at least here in Corpus Christi). I see a new C-Class about every 10th car (maybe not that often, but you get the point).

Plus, you would be going from a mid-lux to an entry-lux (unless you get the AMG).

The GS competes against the E class more than the C class.

Good looking cars though.

Oh yeah, I think that a GS looks better also (especially with minimal mods).

I hear you on the going from luxury to entry level. I would not get the C63. I am also considering an 06/07 CLS. True on the mods too.....that is why I am trying not to get drawn into the dealership.

I had a 2007 C230 that I bought New and I could not wait to get my Used 2006 GS430. The Benz was a nice car and I did not have any problems with it short of it not being able to keep the wheels in balance. It was very stiff and the tires felt like they were square. The interior also does not compare to a Lexus one. Service between both makes are about the same, maybe Lexus is a little better if I really think about it.... Maybe the new body Benz will be better but I would not get another C series again.

go sit in one ... and then get back in your GS and be happy you didnt buy the C-klasse

(don't forget to hold the steering wheel ... that's the worst part)

I am sure you are right.....I have been spoiled by the luxury of my Lexus....I bet the W204 seems so cheap comparatively...will see.

Also don't forget about long term reliability...if you plan on getting rid of the Benz in a couple of years, then it doesn't matter. But if you plan on keeping it for a long period of time (up to 10 years), then you will have headache after headache with constant repair bills. At least with Lexus, you can sure of minimal repairs over the long term.

WOW! I actually drove it yesterday and WOW WOW WOW. Its a fast car and beautiful looking sports sedan. I am considering getting the C class or a certified CLS550. I love the handling of the C class though.

My neighbor has one, and I think its a HOT looking car. I have never driven one, but damn they look nice. Id say go for it if you love it. Its fun to change things up. Plus youll get more power, newer technology, or at least design+ warranty

The C-Class drive is amazing well not amazing but very fun!

Its just the way you are facing the road in the seat, test drive one when you get a chance!

C350 = Prince

C63 = Monster

What are you looking for though, an upgrade to a GS350 might be better than a C350 but thats just me!

335i would be a better path but a C350 its almost like a downgrade!

CLS550 would be really nice also!

Lexus's interior build quality/layout is also much better than Mercedes-Benz. Reliability too.

I do have to agree with you on the sporty looks of the C though.

maybe, but let's face it: This 3rd gen GS has been the most trouble prone Lexus so far, and it's not even 3 years old yet. I'm going to take mine in for the full dash rattle treatment.
