Default Wind noise fixed indirectly. My lexus is now perfect

I bought my car in september of 2007. From the first week I started noticing a faint whistling coming from the drivers mirror. I took it in twice and the tech said he couldnt hear it. I then went on a ride with ther service rep and he heard it. His solution to the problem was to replace the mirrors, but he said he didnt think it would change anything as the mirrors are all identical. I left it alone for a few months just dealing with the annoying little whistle. At my last service I mentioned that the memory for the mirrors wasnt storing new setting. They said I busted the actuator because they were set so far out ( Im talll). The solution to that was to replace th entire mirror assemblies on both sides. When I picked up the car I took the freeway home and BOOM.... no more whistling. I am very very happy that this was resolved. It was annoying. Its amazing that the litttle variances in the mirrors can lead to whistling. To the eye they look exactly the same, but I guess not. anyway, New mirrors and no noise. I thought I would post because I remeber a while back there a few of us who did notice this whistle. I figure if it worked for me it will work for you

maybe it's the seal around the mirrors.
interesting to note.

if i had to DIY, i'd try one of those spray foams.

man I dont know what it was. When I first got the car and I took it and the tech told me he couldnt hear it I analyzed everything about the mirrors and could find nothing wrong or asymmetrical. I guess I just got lucky.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I am having similar issue. 76K miles so likely no warranty... so DIM (myself)

I know the noise is not on the driver side so I can't tell where it is. Is there an easy way to search for the source of the noise?

And what is that spray foam? what r the options to fix it once I find it?
