A diesel GS for Europe is a good idea if they want to sell more GS's there . . .

With the price of diesel lately, highly unlikely. The focus is on hybrids for sure.

320d would be horrible for a GS though. it would be slow..... like someone said- "Granny Slow"

If Lexus ever comes out with a GS with diesel, I hope it will be an VAG diesel or a "really" Lexus engine. The diesel in the IS is a Toyota engine, that should have 177PS/400Nm - but rarely does. This engine is not enough even for the IS.

No auto for this engine, so you really have to play with the shifter a lot...

according to the lexus uk site, the diesel gets 50% more mileage.
44 mpg vs 29mpg for the 250
i don't know if that's imperial or not. but the gain is a lot.

Won't happen in the GS, sorry. Its a 4-cylinder for one.....
