Default Air intake 2007 GS 350 ?

Ok i had a question about air-intake systems... I have seen a K&N air-intake system for about $220 online... On K&N website they have a dyno test saying it adds 18.11 hp ... Now that seems like a lot of HP for an intake... If that is the case then its a must buy for anyone trying to get a little more performance out of their GS 350's 3.5L engine....http://knfilter.com/news/news.aspx?ID=758

Has any one gotten one for their 2007 GS 350 ? What other brands would you guys recommend ?

18 hp would be nice, but from what i have heard the intake is VERY loud. For my setup im using a Blitz LM drop in filter and the JoeZ intake pipe(waiting for the next batch). Im guessing it should be good for around 10-12hp with little added noise. The Pipe alone has shown increases of around 6hp...for the filter im just guessing 6hp since the Blitz drop in for the 2GS was good for that much. Total price around $170 Plus the Blitz is a dry element filter...so no risk of coating the intake manifold with filter oil

I don’t know about the accuracy of 18hp really being added, I will say, however, that the noise is incredible. I installed my K&N intake in December and have enjoyed it ever since, one of the best modifications I have ever done to any car I have owned.

They posted the dyno test on the K&N website and it says 18.11 hp added, I don't see why they would make it up since they are a respected company, right ? Anyways, you have sold me on the K&N intake and i will be purchasing it asap... Thanks, oh yea how much did you purchase your for ?

if you look at the results of that Dyno, its 18hp at very high rpm and I think in 3rd gear? I dont remember exactly, I may have it confused with the dyno from Fujita.
Either way, it definitely added a little juice to the car when I installed mine.
At first I thought the sound was too much, but Ive gotten used to it and its only very loud when you floor the car at high rpm. All other times it sounds great. Good mod for a cheap price.
