Hi all,

I'm owning a GS 300 - 2006 with the parking assist. All of my previous cars will automatically activate the parking assist when the selector lever is put in "R", while with this GS300, I need to push "P" in the switch box. Is there any way to set the parking assist automatically turn on when the car is in "R" mode?

You have to push P in the switch box. But then, I'd just leave it on if I were you. You'll have the 'green 'P" on your guages lit up...but I don't really notice it. It's like driving with the 'pwr ECT" light on. My wife has a Sienna van and it's the same... you activate it, then it stays on all the time. As far as I know, there's no way to link it to the shifter.

I leave mine on almost all the time too.

It already does it for you. Leave the "P" button on all the time and rear sensors are only activated automatically when gear is in "R" position.

Thanks for your advices. The traffic in my country is terrible, there are plenty of motobikes on the street and they drive very closely to me. If I leave it on, it would alarm all the time. That's why I need the P only when I'm at R. Maybe Lexus should create a special operation system only for Vietnam.. heheh...
