TPMS Warning light AND Check System Light On
Thursday driving home from work, the thing started dinging and all sorts of lights started flashing at me. I looked in the manual and (finally) found that it is the TPMS. The orange light on the left side blinks for 1 minute and then stays on steady. I also see "Check System" in the display under the speedometer and there is a red light with an explanation point (!) on the right side. Checked all tire pressure. All were at 30 PSI. Checked spare, it was good. Manual says if it blinks and stays steady, contact your dealer. Called...they can't look at it until Feb. 12. I drive 40 miles a day on average. Not a lot, but by 2/12 that is several hundred miles. Anyone know what could be wrong and if i should still be driving this car? Thanks guys!!!

Let me guess? The temperature has dropped recently were you are at. There is nothing to worry about. This happens to me all the time when the temperature drops. When the temperature goes up the warning lights go off. By-the-way, 30 psi is a bit low since the recommended pressure is 33 psi for both front and rear tires. My TPMS system goes off around 29-30 psi. Increasing your tire pressure will result in less warning lights. Remember, your tire pressure can drop 6 - 8 psi in real cold weather.

Had the same thing happen...they hooked it up to the scan tool and it is a faulty tire sensor. Has nothing to do with the actual PSI (they were fine). They had to order a replacement sensor as they didn't have any in stock.

i had the same problem the other day but on my second set of wheels, so i just reset it by turning back the switch over to the first set of sensors and letting it read the other wheels and then turning it back onto to the secondary sensors. the check system light hasnt come back on but i have not driven the car for more then 50 miles yet so i got to see.

As others mentioned above, cold temperature and 30 psi (measured on warmed up tires) most probable cause of this problem. Try to inflate them to 35 psi.
Also, check to make sure your tire didn't get nailed. I had a problem where in addition to cold temperature TPMS, I also got a nail in my runflat. It was there for awhile and letting air very slow.

this is what i think it is. I jacked all the tires up to 36 warm and checked them cold saturday and they were all 33 and up. I checked the spare as well and added a few pounds to that. The lights are still on so I will wait for Wilkie to figure it out and fix it...the car has to go back in to have the dash rattle fixed for the third time anyway. appointment was made last week for 2/12...will report back after that.

If you have a low PSI or underinflated tire, you won't get the TPMS System Failure (i.e. "CHECK SYSTEM"). The display shows a low tire graphic if you have a low tire. If it's "CHECK SYSTEM", one of the components has failed.

I live in AZ its cold for us if it hits the mid 40's at night. I have not had any issues. I once even wondered if they even work. When I had a set of 20's sent back for repair, I was driving around without the rear 2 sensors and the dash light never came on. I wonder if they really do work accurately (wether they are to sensitive or to numb)

Wilkie said the TMPS light was on because i hit the switch into secondary mode. i didn't even know there was a switch let alone where it was. i even read through that massive manual and i still don't understand the button for the TPMS. oh well. at least the light is off now.
