Anyone with Tanabe exhaust not happy ?
I wanted to install a tanabe medallion touring exhaust on the car ( under 93 db). THey always advertise this system as mature and adult. I dont want a system with a droning while cruising. I am looking for something subtle. Something you would only hear under hard accleration or high rpm. Any feedback from owners with the system would be a great help. Thanks guys

I hope that I'm wrong but I don't think a free flowing exhaust exists that doesn't drone at low RPM.
I wasted a lot of money on my 2nd Gen trying to find a drone-free exhaust. Anyone who says it doesn't should include their age and whether or not they have multiple sub woofers installed. My feeling is that both of those have a lot to do with their perception of the drone.

If you guys think HKS is too loud, this is the exhaust system is right for you. However, if you are expecting a loud ricey exhaust, this is no good. I honestly like the deeper tone. It feels little more exotic. Not ricey. That was ten years ago for me. Plus once you have it installed, the exhaust blings. HKS has the performance factor, Maybe. How much more performance are you going to get from an exhaust? Right? I like the sound and I like the looks of the exhaust.

I've heard both the Tanabe and the HKS in person. I would prefer the sound of the Tanabe. I just wish the tips were pushed out a little more than where they are, especially if you have a rear lip kit. It tends to look sunk in with some kits.

I have the Tanabe Medallion Touring on my 2GS. Under normal driving it is not loud at all. Whether you have the windows up or down, if you have the radio on you will hardly hear it. On the contrary, I love the exhaust note and sound it makes . As much as I love to listen to my music in the car, sometimes I turn down the volume in the middle of a song just to hear the exhaust . The sound is hard to explain because it sounds like no other. It is not ricey at all, neither in loudness or tone. When you are cruising you don't notice it at all. I've had people in the car, girls to be exact, while accelerating under heavy throttle to 90 mph on the freeway and it didn't distract them at all. They didn't complain or mention anything about the exhaust. Nevertheless, punch the throttle and the car becomes alive . I am planning on adding intake and header but I'm hoping it won't be too much louder.

Hey guys I have the Tanabe exhaust and can tell you it is exactly what you are looking for. You cant even tell it is there until you get on it. Nice deep throaty sound. I love it!

I had tanabe and it was a pretty good exhuast , hwvr, i traded with HKS due to i have the rear add-on kit, the tip for tanabe is too short, both are good exhuast but still too quiet for the sound.

yes i also traded my hks exhaust for a tanabe and i notice the hks had larger pipping then the tanabe exhaust so i assume there is more performance gains with the hks then the tanabe ...but i am still very happy with my tanabe exhaust and will look great with my wald kit when i get it
