Pre Delivery Questions
Finally, I purchased my GS350 today! I expect to receive it within 3 weeks...I have been reading this site religously for the last month or so, and have gained immense knowledge of the car...Now, I hope I don't get the dreaded rattle problem...
So..before I pick up the car, do you guys have any suggestions of things I should get done (TSB related / problem related)..
1. They are going to replace the brake pads (I hate brake dust!) for me.
2. I am trying to get them to switch the Yokohama's out before I take delivery..Good Idea? Any suggestions to which I should push for?
Am I missing anything?
Thanks!!

They have offered to swap the tires before I pick up the car to Dunlop Sport Max's. Opinions?
They also recommended against the brake pad TSB because they said the new pad degrades performance, but the way that I see it, it should still work great for me, besides what I don't know can't hurt!

Anyone know any different? In the past, I always machined the rotors when replacing pads (as recommended by various mechanics).

If they are willing to do the brakes now, go for it. If not wait till your first service and tell them you need them done then. They may be saying not to do them cause they don't know how Lexus will respond with no mileage on the car. I'd do it here to have a happy cust leaving with their new car.
Performance wise you probably wouldn't notice a difference, none of my customers have.

Sorry to ask my questions in your thread, but i just made the big purchase and was wondering if there was any options through the dealer you would advise me to get? I'm going to get the Clear Bra option, but is there anything else?? Thank you.

Correct. You can apply the same analogy to tires. The grippiest tire has the shortest treadlife and the quietest long lasting tires have the least gripping power. You cannot defy physics. in order to benefit, you must give up and vice versa.
