Default NAV_Bypass!!

Well I finally decided to do the NAV bypass, I am going to have it done later on today from someone my service person at Lexus recommended. I will post my results later on this evening. I know many people in this forum have done this and were successful. I don't have a ML system, will the NAV Dvd system be able to play dvds once this is done? Or will I have to purchase an after market player?

thanks,
aas080

If you don't have the Mark Levinson system, the only thing that the nav bypass will accomplish is allow you to enter nav destination info and use the bluetooth screen while in motion. It will not play DVDs and you will not be able to simply add an after market DVD player and have it display on the nav screen. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Wow!!! The Nav hack is done, now the only thing left is the dvd player. I am going to use a device from NAV TV that gives a video output for the after market dvd player, I already ordered the part and should be getting it this week. Once completed I will post pics of the installation from start to finish.

How did they do the Nav Hack? - Did they put a switch in to allow you to enter Destinations? - Or does your Navigation now fail to scroll smoothly? -

Some of us here used a switch to avoid the 'jumpy' Navigation Scrolling.

They installer put a switch on panel where you have a the sport button, the open space. Luckly he had one that matched the other buttons so it looks like it came like that straight from the factory.

Thanks for the reply! - Could you do us a favor on this forum? - Could you find out the Brand and Model number of the switch the installer used? We have been looking for a better fitting switch here. I assume that it is a black rocker switch?? A picture of your panel would be great also!

Thanks!

Don't really know what part number switch he used, he just had a bunch and color cordinated with the switch panel, I will post the pics tonight once I get home to take them.....Bozer you should talk to your service adviser acually I spoke to the accesorries specialest at the dealer and told him about how much trouble this nav is causing me, and he recommended this person to me... You should talk to your dealership I know for a fact that they must know someone who could do this for.. All and all it took him 30mins to do this, he said he would have finished earlier but was taking his time....LOL

I would have guessed that you didn't know the part number off the top of your head.........I was hoping you might make a quick phone call for the forum members.
