Hello from Switzerland..
Hello!
Since i got my 450h 3 weeks ago i have been looking for an online community that shares my newly found love for Lexus...Its a bit far geographicaly but think I found it!
I live in a country where the german dominate the market in this category of cars. Lexus is not nearly as popular here as in the U.S (which is a shame) and is quite more expensive but IMHO still beats any german car value for money wise. I was very lucky with finding a really good Lexus sales guy who really knows his stuff and has a passion for Lexus, providing me with incomparable service. The car market here is very different from the U.S as service is usually lame, you always pay sticker price... Different mentality... When buying a GS here you can pick 2 different trims one called "Business" which is the entry level (no leather,no park assist, no rain sensor, no rear spoiler) you cant add options just pick colors. And then you have "Edition" trim which is with all of the above but you can add Mark Levinson, sunroof, and the dynamic radar cruise control.
This is the first Lexus I own and I have to say I love everything about it! It looks great, its fast, its comfortable, its loaded with gadgets and in my case around here its pretty exclusive!
Does anybody know of mechanical/technical differences between european models and U.S ones? I would love to hear about them...
Thanks

Welcome!
The obvious differences the US Spec GS450h to other markets (Asia, Europe and etc) the fender turn signal markers that the US model does not have and the obvious Metric vs. English measurements (km/h vs. mph c vs. f). The option packages are obviously different as well. Leather and moonroof are standard. Majority of the 450h's here are fully loaded with Mark Levinson and Navigation. The only real option available would be the PCS/Radar Cruise which is rarely seen but available on our vehicles.

Hey, congrats!! Lots of my "european" relatives love my Lexus when they come to visit me in Michigan. Most of them are from London, England and own mostly German cars. I proved to them that Lexus is a worthy competitor and has better products. When they saw my GS, the wow factor spread through the family. One of my uncle said damn it looks more futuristic than my 2002 E class! Ha, of course!

Welcome to CL. This is the internet, who cares about geography? As far as I'm concerned this is the only Lexus forum worth my time...and I'm currently working in the Middle East...
Cheers!

Hello welcome to Club Lexus. Suisse Romande ou Alémanique ?
I LOVE my 450h, you will see it is a fantastic car, so smooth yet very powerful and so comfortable and extremely well build. Great choice, specially in Europe where a Lexus command exclusivity much more than the traditional German cars.
