Default what would you do

i have a 06 GS300 bought it brand new. i have been going to this oil change station for 10 years. my car now has 25k on it, when i went in for an oil change yesterday, i found out that they have never changed my oil filter on my car ever. so i have been driving on the same oil filter for 25k miles. they have been charging me for a full oil change when all they were doing was changing the oil. do u think this has caused me some down the road engine problems, and what actions would you take with the oil change station, thanks in advance

How do you know they have never changed the filter?

I would do my best to get that in writing somehow then worry about further action.

Some how you need to act real nice and get a copy of your history.

dude if you can prove that is true, you can sue them for a lot of money. haven't you seen the report fox 11 news did on jiffy lube charing customers and not doing the maintenance? thats called fraud. not only is it damaging your car but its DEFRAUDING you. its pretty serious. take it to lexus and have them verify that its the original oil filter. then go see an attorney.

I agreed with 06GS430's idea totally, take your toy to Lexus for varification and can be used as an evidence.

Sorry about what happened to your toy, but I smelled lawsuit, me like...

Somehow, I get excited when there is lawsuit!!!

Anyway, best of luck to you!!!

Hey slk dds,
As a dentist, wouldn't you frown on lawsuites? How can you get excited?
In AZ, the board rips you a new one with only a complaint. Lawsuites are too common over small things. I just think as a target of lawsuites, I wouln't ever get too excited over one.

Now, what that shop did is quite negligable. I can see having them on the hook for whatever problems may come, but that would just be called being responsible on their part.

For the record, I have never been sued or complained about, (officially), but then I hope I take care of pts so they won't need to.

I meant to say what the shop did was negligent, not negligible. It's a big deal!

sorry to hear that about your car...

that's why i'm even a little weary about dealers...i like to be able to see that my car is realllllllllllllllly getting serviced...

I just got my gs serviced at Dynamic in Westminister and I was able to see the filter being changed and brand new oil being filled...never like just leaving my car anywhere and just pick up and pay...people these days are too sketchy, even "stealerships" haha
