Default 06 GS300 or??

My current lease is about to end and I really want to get a Lexus. My dream has always been to get a GS, but the IS350 really looks great now too.

However, my dealer just told me (Im in NYC) that Lexus doesnt make any IS350's this time of year, so my only option is the IS250.

That being said, I think I'm going to try to get an 06 GS300.

He said he has one GS300 with 6000 miles and a navigation system for around 35K. Sound like a good deal to you guys? That car is silver, and although I wanted black I think the deal is good enough to warrant going with silver.

Get the is250 AWD
or get the is350 from a different dealer.

i would rather have that car brand new rather than a used gs (Could have problems with a used vehicle)
and if i was buying new i would still rather have the IS

The new body style of the GS feels to cramped for me plus the I.S. is a real pleasure to drive and the handeling is suppurb great for quick manuvering in traffic.
I have a second gen GS and was looking at the new lexus line-up but for me i would much rather step inside of a new IS rather than a new or used GS.

have Lexus look up the records, make sure it was not some buy back, and go with the GS, much better car IMO

Am I understanding you correctly?

You find the GS too cramped, but you like the IS. I tried the IS and it felt much more cramped to me than the GS.

I've got a 98 GS 300 and will trading it in later this year for (probably but not definitely yet) a new GS 350.

Being a 5 foot 8 inch guy with long legs, I felt the IS loaner I had was too cramped for me. I prefer my GS with a more spacious cabin and a better ride feel. The IS was nice but it felt jumpy on the bumps and the steering was trying to be too BMWish and felt heavy and numb. I prefer the GS steering with best of both luxury and sport feel. The infiniti G35 steering feel is much superiour than the IS. But GS is quicker than the IS250 awd. My 2 cents.

I'm a (barely) 5'7" guy with short legs, and I found the IS350 very nice but too cramped relative to the GS350.

Get the GS. They are nice for the mid to upper 30's range.

Is that age or price or what that you're "30's" comment refers to?

Not buying a used car because it might have issues is the most retarded thing I have heard all day. I guess certified pre-owned Lexus fall in to that category?

I think I have heard it all....... I would never buy a NEW car, waste of money.

Default Go with the 06 GS 300 if you can't afford the 07 GS 350

The additional Hp's of the 07 GS 350 make it even better than the 06 GS 300. But it is hands down much better than the IS.

Going to test drive them both this weekend, with a higher expectation of purchasing the 06 GS300. I realize its not as good as the 07 350, but I dont think I can afford more then $500 per month finance payment. Im going to put down 10K in hopes of bringing it down.

you shouldn't need 10k down, specially on an 06.. i put 5k down (97 ES300 Trade) on mine and payment is $535

Well thats certainly good news. Im going tomorrow morning to two different dealers.

If I've got 10K to put down, and want my payements to be no more then $500 per month, what kind of mileage should I expect on the 06 GS300?

Theres no way I could get a brand new 07 one is there?

Thanks for all your help guys. I Cant wait to join the club.

Couldnt you get the GS350 without the ML and some of the other toys, and have your payment in the low 500's? I would have thought you could.
