I went to the Lexus dealership last weekend becuase my husband wanted to look at the LS 460. I personally wasn't that impressed, I STILL love my 2nd gen GS!

But the dealer told me that Lexus is redesigning the GS again (I thought they just DID that). He said it's going to be completely different from the inside out, and that it will also have 380 hp like the LS. He said because the GS is basically the sport version of the LS, that the GS is usually redesigned after a redesign of the LS.

I have no idea if this is true, but he did also say that he's sure pics of the new GS will start showing up on spy website, etc. some time next year.

Have any of you heard about this?

Salesmen, most of them, are full of crap. They GS should be in this current design for several years. There may be minor changes but the basic shape of Lexus designs has lasted 6-8 years historically. Lexus may decide to shorten the run on it's models but no way it's gonna be less than 5 years. Not imo.
Bottom line, the salesperson is the last to take information from. Right now they will say anything to entice people to buy an LS.....including scare tactics and misinformation.

That's kind of what I thought. I thought it would be pretty weird and stupid for Lexus to completely re-design the GS after the 3rd gen has only really been on the road for 1 year!

Definitely not a scare tactic to me. I told him I wasn't all that impressed with the 3rd gen GS, and that after test driving it and even the LS I wasn't compelled to trade in my '99. If it ain't broke, don't upgrade!
