Default GS350 Oil filter question

i know service for the GS is 5k. i was researching oil filters and all i saw was what appeared to be the internal component for the filter. is the lexus oil filter (external unit) reusable or are they a complete unit. is it something you can do yourself/jiffy lube or are you better off bringing it to the dealer? what does the dealer charge for an oil change?

I actually did it myself. I couldn't find the oil filter, so I just kept the old one. Next time I need an oil change, I'm thinking of taking it to the Toyota dealer. I heard it's cheaper there than Lexus dealer.

Just my thought.

The GS uses the new filter element kit (not sure part number), just like the ES350, but not sure if same part number. There is a drain plug on the exterior housing to drain the oil within the filter, prior to removing it. Try not to use a plier or anything on the exterior housing as you will need to reuse it.

Have fun.
