Window Tint--Good Shade, Good shops
Anybody know of any good tint shops near the San Francisco, San Jose, Bay Area? I have a flint mica GS, looking to get something dark in a smoke color, so it will match the car color well. I don't want to go limo tint on it, but something a little lighter and more of a smoke or grey hue than black. Anybody have any luck or any ideas? Attach any pics if you got ***. Thanks

In the Peninsula...
Give Hubert?..(I think that's his name) a call at:
Driving Edge Window Tinting
138 17th Ave
San Mateo, CA
Phone: (650) 578-0882
He did all 5 windows for me for my '06 GS300 with exactly the type of tint job you are looking for. It was his first '06 GS tint job. It's been a year already; no problems so far. I also had an IS300 tinted from him with no problems.
A word of caution if you must have your AM radio: after I got the rear window tinted, my AM radio reception became horribly bad,(It could have been bad prior to the tint installation..comeon...who checks their AM radio reception ) . A local Lexus dealer swapped out the radio and doublechecked all the connections and blamed it (both the dealership and corporate) on the tint (eventhough I've been told the tint was non-metallic) since the antenna is embedded in the rear window. I don't think the tint is entirely to blame... if at all (mostly poor design on Lexus part) since there's been no issues with 2 G35 coupes using the same tint. Also, I am not aware of anyone else with this issue for the '06 GS. Thank goodness it's only AM...no problems with FM.
