bluetooth & navigation

how come whilst talking on my bluetooth, the NAVIGATION system no longer works? i.e. if i am using the NAV go to somewhere (being guided), and I receive a call, I lose voice promts from the NAV.

Because the sound comes from the same speaker. The one on the drivers side.
