Fujita ShortRam for '06 GS-300
Hi all,
Just ordered this instake - they claim, according to the dyno results posted on their site, that it will provide 9+ HP to the rear wheels. I will report on my findings (non-dyno, real-world) as soon as it's installed.
Looks like it's a pretty decent unit - company has to be reputable if they were willing to both post dyno results and a picture of the installed unit IN the vehicle it is designed for... very nice.

These intake systems are like a trade off. However, the trade off favors more toward the stock setup than the aftermarket intake unless you are going to make other significant modifications (ECU, forced induction, NOS, etc.).
If you look at the dyno, there really is no benefit until after 5250 rpm's. After 5250 rpm's you get an increase but you lose so much versus stock on the low end. With the short ram you gain approx. 10hp at around 6250 rpm's but look at how long it takes until you to get that power. The short ram loses as much as 60hp/torque on the low end versus stock. I would think that you'd be better off shifting a little before 5000rpm (w/o short ram) rather than waiting until 6250rpm (with short ram). It's all driver techniques and shifting points. Also, by swapping the intake your engine noise will increase at higher rpm's resulting in higher interior dB's for a luxury vehicle.
If someone was to swap out their stock intake system for this short ram I believe you would hurt performance. Unless you have a high reving motor, with forced induction, modified ECU, etc. than its useless to upgrade.

They did two tests and each show similar results with the Instake installed coming out quickly on top at last 2-3%???
