here is another photo (from clublexus member llamaboiz) of that exact same 11 SMT bulb in a lexus IS..the white one on the right. the car on the left has a 9 SMT bulb in it. both cars have 6000k HID kits for their low beams.

Thats pretty close to 6000K. BTW SMT technology have been around for a while now, at least a few years. The problem with SMT LED is that they cant withstand high temp. If you turn on your high beam and heat up the housing, it may cause the SMT LED circuitry to fail.

just ordered 2 pairs ( one extra just in case of a burnout ).

I have 6000K bulbs up top, and HID matching kit for fogs, so this will be perfect. Good find.

Yap, mine GS is still using factory's 4,300k instead of 6,000k. B/c last time I ordered a set from eBay, somehow it looked like 12,000k (purple)...

But soon enough, whenever I have the time I will try to get a set of 6,000k on my toy, then it will match the parking lights!!!

I guessed I have better luck than you... I have them on for over a year... so far so good!!!

Besides most of them came from the same factory in China!!! QC do not exist over there (unless the factory forgets to make "bribery payment"), therefore it is all HIT & MISS!!!

It might sound cynical, but that is how they work in China (remember LEADED paint on kids toys!!!).

here are two photos of the 2 watt high power 194 flank type bulb from VLEDs...for right angle applications. 6000k HID's with 3000k high beams (you can see a little bit of the yellow in the reflection from the bulb)

click the thumbnails to enlarge.

Those look pretty good agent. Now I don't know what to get to match my stock 4300K headlights, those or the 11 SMT. What do you suggest? Any specific difference in light output?

well...if you wanna go LED's there your best option is a warm white LED bulb. i think they are around a 3500K color temperature..its the closest match to your stock 4300k HID's. a hyperwhite LED bulb will glow at about a 6000-6500k color temp.

I would say..upgrade your HID's to 6000k and then get a regular hyperwhite LED bulb for your parking lights...in my opinion..the 6000k HID's look way better and more classy.

otherwise i would try out a warm white LED for now and see what you think.

see post# 46 in this thread. that bulb is in the white car and it matches his (llamaboiz) 6000k HID's perfectly.

this one is a 4500k bulb your closest match: WLED-WHP LED Wedge Base Bulbs
-----it'll be bright (its 1 watt high powered) but the light will be very focused on it. only a 120 degree beam pattern.

otherwise this one is a warm white bulb: WLED-WHP6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs
-----this will be pretty bright and have a good 360 degree light emittance..but will prob be a 3300k color temp with the warm white bulb

in all honesty...i wouldn't put either of these bulbs on my car. the 1st one is too focused and the 2nd one isn't even gunna be bright enough.

i prefer to buy bulbs only from www.vleds.com

i would say upgrade your stock HID's to 6000k and put this bulb in:

6000K is fine for looks but you do give up brightness. I guess its a matter of form over function. As long as it looks good right? So what if it doesnt work as well

I went from 6000K to 4300K in my last car and I can tell a big difference in brightness, especially in wet road, the 6000K are no better than halogen on wet road surface.

The high beam is a 9005 bulb, and the DRL runs on reduced power on the high beam. If you replace it with another 9005 bulb, you will still have high beam.

Goto Finemotoring.com and try the HIR blubs they are much much whiter and brighter than Silverstars. The will last longer too. Easy modification needed to make them fit the housing. Can also put them in the fogs with great results. Email the guy there and he will answer all questions and direct you on what to order.

Also for the DLR lights goto vleds.com. I am waiting on my order but, since the wedge style 194 bulbs are always on that the bright white HID LED's there will make the DLR's and the Brights look very close to HID's. I ordered the 19 SMT figuring I would get maximum reflectance in the chrome of the lights.
