Check Engine Light - Check VSC

So I am going to Crown Lexus tomorrow on my way to work and will pick one up for $24 bucks or something like that, they had it in stock. My service advisor told me that if that is the problem, it takes something like "up to 47 heat up and cool down cycles" for it to reset...So driving to and from work, that is like 24 days.....hence it is nice to reset it and get it done. I will ask the dealer tomorrow as I am picking it up to check and reset the code.

So I got a new cap, the fit is snug. If you look, the old cap has an O seal that dries out and makes a poor seal. My car has been on the road since 03/05 so it has seen some use. Pulled the negative cable for 5 minutes and light was off when I started the car back up. Did the windows and sunroof, shut off the seatbelt buzzer and off we go. We'll see if the light stays off, if not it is probably an o2 sensor or something minor since car seems to run fine.

if it does not work, under the body parts catalog, find fuel system components, and fuel cap gasket

This same thing just happened to me. I unplugged the MAF sensor to clear the airbox out of the way, but I reconnected everything. Not sure why this turned on. Any ideas?

Did you have to remove any vacuum hoses? I would make double sure that they are all secure again as well.

If you were a bit rough with the MAF, they are very sensitive. Take it out again and take a look to make sure none of the wires got damaged. Hopefully not because they can be surprisingly expensive.

Ive had a new cap put on by lexus before because my VSC and check engine light came on. That was probably six or seven months ago. I got gas the other day and noticed my VSC and check engine light was back on. I checked the gas cap and it was loose so i tightend it. The VSC and check engine light is still on though. What should i do, should i wait awhile and see if it goes away or what?

Had the same exact VSC thing yesterday. Inspected the gasket on the gas cap, OK, carefully closed the gas cap. Needed to go thru 4 start and stop cycles before the VSC and the CEL went off. Went to the dealer this morning for an oil change and had them check for codes, none present!!! First defense, I suppose for this problem is to ensure a tight gas cap fit.

You can add my '06 GS300 to the "replace fuel cap" for the P0456 code, with VSC, TRAC and Check Engine lights/warnings on. Cleared it myself a couple of weeks ago after re-seating the fuel cap gasket. But the code got triggered again yesterday. Brought it to the dealer today and they replaced the fuel cap. Interestingly, the service order says "replaced fuel cap, cleared code as per TSIB L-SB-0168-09". I hadn't seen, or missed, any postings of this issue related to a TSIB.
Part number on the new cap is 77300-47010 per the service order.
Presumably the -09 suffix means it's a 2009 TSIB, but can't seem to find it via search here or google.
I'm curious to read that TSIB (L-SB-0168-09). It's my nature to be curious! Anyone have this TSIB and could post it, or a link here?
